Obvious but Helpfull advice if u need to take a break from UO.....

Or is it?? because we still find the odd house falling stuffed with goodies that could have been saved by the account owner..

Quite simply make sure u store and keep your best items and gold checks in your 5 or 6 characters bank boxes... thats 125 items per box...so deed all com.stuff up, etc and just keep the best stuff that u can fit into this space.

Because for whatever reason you are leaving...one day u may return...be it in 2 years time?? and one things for certain, houses fall after 90 days of deactivation of an account...things left in the house will fall to the ground to be looted - thats UO.

So the simple solution and obvoius solution...BANK IT AND SAVE IT [end].

I think you're missing a major point here.

Some people want to leave for good and don't want to spend all their time playing games like this. They just don't have the will power to stay away. Giving your items away or letting your houe decay gives you another reason to stay away.

Ive got a baby on the way. I reckon I'll have to give this up around that time, better things to spend time and money on. To make sure I don't come back, I'll either sell my account or leave my items to my guild mates. I'm one of the people without will power

I've also stuffed a beetle full of stuff before aswell and left my char mounted on it and closed my account for 4 odd months and the stuff was still in the beetle when i got back. Dunno if that still works though.

I think u are being hyper critical about this...if someone hates the game so much sure they can give all there stuff away while there still active..Iam talking about 95% of players that for whatever reason , get bored, money gets tight, illness making it hard to play, etc etc....just bank all ya best stuff while your active and he u can come back in 4 years time and its still there.

haha, my 6 characters logged out on full beetles in the lost lands Inn (forgot the name)

Im returning, ive got all my shinez, either in the bank or full beetles. (leave UO? never!! You always come back one day)
