Okay folks as you know I'm in the process of making a Sampire. I'm building on the skills and I even have the Soul Seeker. But now i'm curious about the clothes. I read about the Blodwood suit but I was under the impression that suit is un meddable. Am I wrong? I don't think Ash is either. So how can you cast anything while you wear the suit?

Sampires don't really cast any spells except Vampiric Embrace, and that only after they die.

Yes , wooden armor is non med unless you find mage armor pieces. However as one person put it Sampires don't really cast spells , so non med is probably not an issue

Ahhh... so the wood armor is used because it regens health. I think I understand.

Here's a question. How would a Sampire gate? No magery or meddable armor I'm thinking means a lot of walking.......or even sailing.

In your case, yes. Walking and sailing.

On the other hand, most of the Sampire hunting grounds aren't that far from towns. It's a bit of a trek to get to Doom, but Dread Horn, Travesty and Paroxysmus are less than a minute run from a moongate. There are also plenty of dragons or Balrons which are close to gates as well.

Don't you have chivalry? You can travel with the Sacred Journey spell ( and yes, Sampires do cast a few spells). In fact Sacred Journey has minimum skill requirement of 15, meaning humans without chivalry can cast the spell, although it will take a few tries. You just need someone else to mark the runes for you. I use my stealth/mage to mark runes anywhere my sampire wants to go.

By the way, being non-medable armor does not mean you can't cast while wearing it. It just means mana regen will be slower and anyone with the meditation skill cannot actively use the skill.

The bloodwood armor is a good starting suit of armor. I would start looking for better armor when you can afford it that also adds lots of str/dex/int or HP/Stamina and even mana regen, and jewelry that adds those plus HCI/DCI and damage bonus. My base suit adds about 40 points to dex/str.

I wish i could use Sacred Journey. But I'm on Siege; and Recall and Sacred Journey delibrately won't work here. If I'm to gate. I must have magery and that sucks. Why they wont allow Sacred Journey is beyond me buts its actually part of the shard ruleset. I wish they would review that. After all you have to be a certain level to cast it. Its not like a recall scroll at all. If they wanted to make it difficult they could raise the skill to SJ to say..80. That would work. It would mean that you earned the priviledge to SJ when you reached that skill level.

I have friends that spent a lot of time and gold gathering all the ingredients to make bloodwood armor. They wore it once or twice and decided they didn't like it. If you have the armor give it a try, if you have to invest time or gold into acquiring a suit... I would look at building a suit to compliment your template.
