Honor for Bushido

I know Karma effects damage output, but what does having high honor do? I got 6 bubbles.

I think you may be misunderstanding karma, but when you use Honor on yourself, you're able to walk through monsters and will be ignored by them for up to 5 minutes at Knight. It also gives you a 10% damage increase while the effect is going.

Yea connors right karma has no bearing on bushido...only chivalry/necro.

I think its based on what level you are....10% per level? (follower,seeker,knight)

Honouring your opponent gives an apprentice or higher samurai perfection with each hit, for every successful swing you gain 10% DI and 100 luck up to 100% DI and 1000luck, for every missed swing you lose 3 levels of perfection.

So if hit, hit, hit, miss....your on 0 again.

The level of honour only affects duration of monster ignore.

And no, it's not 10% per level, it's just 10% DI bonus to honor yourself regardless of what level you're on. The level of Honor only determines the length of time the honor lasts, which is 5 minutes max at Knight.

I didnt know it gave you a DI boost while you were honored...i thought the only damage increase from honour came (10%per level of perfection) from honouring your opponent.

As far as I am aware, unless this was a recent change, honoring yourself grants you a flat 25% damage increase. This is constant. The only thing your rank will affect is the duration of the effect. Rank 1 lasts 1 minutes I believe, rank 2 is 2 minutes and rank 3 is 3 minutes, but I am not 100% on the duration.

Also, for the person who said honoring a target grants 10% increase to damage, this is incorrect as well. First to get this bonus you need at minimum of 50 bushido. Next your actual bushido skill determines how many ranks of perfection you need to reach achieved perfection. The minimum is always 0% DI and the maximum is always 100% DI. At 50 skill it takes 20 straight hits to achieve perfect. At 100 Bushido it takes 10 straight hits to achieve perfection. At 120 bushido you only need 9 straight hits to achieve perfection. In all instances, if you miss once, you lose three steps towards perfection.

I wish the playguide would state the exact number.

I think honoring yourself does not increase the DI number in the KR profile, therefore, can't confirm the exact amount. I'll have to re-check when I get a chance.

This would be a good FoF question. It's been my understanding for quite a few years now that the amount was 10%, and I do distinctly recall reading that somewhere "official", I just can't remember where.

I definetly remember seeing somewhere official about it being 25% at knight off, but have never bothered to test it! not like it workis for long enough to loose sleep over

Just exhausted myself looking on stratics, but coudln't find this info, although the asked questions section in virtues section sounds familiar, maybe there were more of them in a dev release notes sometime! was probably on the in testing/concept page that used to be updated on uo.com
