what are your tactics playing against mages once you dont have resisting spells?

i used to play a nox dexxer without resisting. when i see mage casting An Ex Por i used to activate a lesser explosion potion with no target. so it exploded in my hands and unfreeze. that was also a good tactic to disturb the enemy, since it has a small area damage
theres also the traped bag tactic, but thats boring and deals more damage

ive also think about dismount and ordering my pet to attack me if i get para before im stuck on energy fields, but that never work so good cuz you need to be fast doing that

Trapped boxes...if done right they do a small amount of damage and are instant.

make a trap with 30ish tinkering place it on a small wooden box, then lock it and then cast unlock spell on in.

Fighting a good mage without resisting spells is a huge disadvantage if you're not just as good at PvP as well. The problem is not just the paralyze spell but extends into others. Curse drops your stats more, and the biggest issue (at least IMHO) is poison. If they poison you constantly, you're going to eat through a ton of cure pots and as soon as you run out you're as good as dead.

If you have to play against a mage without resist, just carry lots of apples/potions/trapped box or two on you and you should be okay. Make sure you use a weapon with a disrupt spell (magic arrow or fireball), and try to get them to 1/2 health before going in for your mana hogging specs that do a ton of damage for a killing blow. Specific tactics really depend on your template, but in general it's just hit and run and hope RNG works in your favor to disrupt them.

Remember, a good warrior should always beat a good mage in a field fight.

i didnt understand it very well
whats the difference between this kind of trap an the normal trapped box?
theonly one i knew was trapping a normal box with MAGIC TRAP and without locking it
whats the difference between this one and the one you said?

If you do the trapped box right (Have a tinker with 30 skill make it) it will only do 10 damage. This is what everyone uses to break para.

The only other things you need to worry about are poison, curse, and mana vamp.

Poison -> Cure pot
Curse -> Apple
Mana Vamp -> Stay on them interrupting, evasion, etc. Its not a huge deal. You can heal and hit without mana for the few secs it lasts.

To be honest resist is overrated right now. With consumables like apples and pots its a waste on most dexers.

tinker with roughly 30 skill and enough carpentry to make small crates, make small crates (only use the crates that u have succesfully made lockable). Then make sure the crate is in your pack, use tinker tools, select dart trap and target the box. It might take a fair few tries but you will eventually succeed. You then have to lock the crate using the key inside it, then use mage spell unlock to unlock the crate! there you have a usable trapped chest! You will need crossbow bolts and iron ingots for materials to make the trap

There is a way to do this without needing the box to be unlocked but I don't know it! prevents the open box image from appearing right on your screen.

Oh and make sure the box is orientated the right way or it won't work!

Just one thing Mana Vamp is permanant until you regen mana, mana drain is the Temporary one.

Also may want to carry refresh pots...i know a few necros who will pain spike(and possibly strangle...apples) to drop stamina to slow swing speed and lower hit chance.
