Worst customer service ever?

So I was happily along my quest to becoming a spellweaver when I noticed that the 10 jars of honey needed weren't updating in my quest log no matter how many times I toggled/untoggled them.
So I sent in a request to fix the issue and all I get back is some generic message telling me to e-mail their quality assurance team.

All I really had to say was wtf?

So I messaged them back clarifying that all I needed was a quest update for 1 item to proceed and the other items were working fine.

Exact same generic response.

Are the GM's in this game supposed to be useless? I mean it seems to me that they are most likely just computers that scan words and create generic responses according to what words are in the request.

Anywho, anyone know how to fix this perchance?

Found if you start the other weaver skill quest and don't finnish/end the other for the scroll. The quest to become a weaver wont reconize and properly allow toggleing in the weaver skill quest. Just need to cancel one quest finnish the other and then go back to the one cancelled. The two get hung up if both at the honey portion.

yes, the GMs are there to give the community a false sense of customer service. Most likely they figure that you will see you are like number 20 in the queue, then 30 minutes later you are number 19, so you will just give up so they don't have to spend their time sending you some generic messages after you WAIT 3 FREAKIN HOURS TO GET A FREAKIN GENERIC FREAKIN MESSAGE THAT DONT FREAKIN TELL YOU A FREAKIN DAMN FREAKIN THING.

I think the more appropriate phrase here is 'customer disservice'.

This is not the worst customer service ever; When I was going to school i worked telephone supprt for an national internet service provider (that is based in seattle WA); They at one point attempted to offer Satellite interent service (this was before high speed was available to most of the land), they would send us out this list of reasons why service may be spotty for customers, the list always included "Solar flare activity" as a reason that people may be having issues with their service. For me that was the worst customer service I have ever seen.

its funny... I read this thread and i too am sitting in the GM queue for 10 mins on my second page cause they didnt fix the problem I have with something unseen in the pack... this time I made it easy for them and took everything out of my pack. and off my body. Im still carrying massive stone in my pack apparantly and I just cannot see it at all.

30 mins and counting.....

Not sure why you did not find the answer or get one, I am guessing the answer is in thier knowlege index or whatever they call it, and yes I beleive your issue is due to multiple quests conflicting with each other.

Never had any problems with customer support in my time.

That's why for simple problems like this it's a lot easier to come here.
And I am sure they have many reports about that bug you stated since it is an old and well known bug.

So what else are they suppose to say about something that is reported so many times? Much easier to send a generic message then taking time to say "We know already."

Hell, I just had a quest item stuck in my pack Friday or Saturday, that a GM fixed in less than 20 minutes after the page. The GM talked to me, made sure I wanted the item removed (I'd accidentally picked up 2, and they were no-drop items, for a non-repeatable quest), and even asked if there was anything else they could help with.

Either the OP ran into some slacker that doesn't know their job (or doesn't want to do it right), or they didn't phrase their issue properly, because I've had nothing but good experiences the 3 times I paged in the last 6 months, and while 1 wait was fairly long, all three GMs I encountered were courteous and knew exactly how to correct my issues (all of which were quest-related, interestingly enough).

I think your thread title is a mite bit exaggerated. Or possibly the OP just hasn't had any really bad customer service experiences (lucky dog). I've heard of GMs screwing up people's items (accidental deletion etc) then giving them them "we don't replace lost or stolen items" line. Or screwing up stuff having to do with their house or other things that aren't replaceable.

BTW I found this information in about ONE minute by going to uo.com and searching the knowledge base. There's no reason to be lazy and page a GM when you can get the information yourself. ;)

If you want the worst customer support. Go play POGO even though it is EA to. My wife has had a Pogo Account for 3 years now. Emailed them over 15 times in 3 years over problems. & has never gotten a response. Other than an automated email.

Here is the really sad things. She has sent them over 5 emails ontop of that cussing them out. In a way that would make a Sailor blush. I have read the emails she sent. & a GM would have banned her account if they actually read them. Every single email out of those 5 should have got her banned. However, they never read them so it doesen`t matter.

I would go into more detail, but I would get banned from stratics if I said even 5% of what she said.

The solution is what WarPig said. in the 2nd post.

You have the quest to get the summon fey spell active at the same time. That's why the spellweaving quest isn't acepting your honey.

To fix, just quit the summon fey quest first. Complete the sw quest to get your spellbook, then do the summon fey quest.

Sometimes there are GM's working, but a lot of times they just aren't working at all. I noticed this first the last time they moved the offices. Sometimes I'm on a very long time so you notice things a casual player wouldn't normally see. I've been the same number in the queue for over a day before. So, no matter what anyone would say there wasn't anyone answering calls at all. It will keep your place normally even if you log off that char, and change chars on that account. It seems to do this over a fairly long period of time, too.

The best time to get a GM is on the weekend. They often have someone playing during the prime weekend hours. We've got a char bugged on another quest. They NEVER responded to that. We have so many chars we actually changed skill sets from one char to another just to get unbugged. We like running that obsidian statue quest.

I'll say this though. The GM's working now are some of the best ones I've encountered in the entire 11 years we've played. They take care of your problems when they show up. I had one spend a great deal of time to save my missing mouse hole deed. I was AMAZED when it popped into my pack about 30-45 mins later. He actually looked through all the tiles of my keep til he found it.

You guys have a blessed day!

If you seriously want some form of resolution with the LM's....lazy mooks.....
find a way to touch base with corporate in VA.

After several years of people post HERE, NOTHING has been done.
I don't even try and page one no more.

I learned long ago that most questions can be answered via the community. Either on this very forum, or in your guild chat, or at the bank itself.

If not, then the GMs will probably help you.

I've only rarely needed GM assistance at random points over the past 7ish years or so, and, while the wait times have sometimes gotten on my nerves (IE: entering the queue as ninth in line and waiting 2 hours before it is my turn), I don't think I've ever actually gotten an automated response from one. Granted, I haven't always been able to get the result I wanted from paging (primarily because it's been things that a GM just can't do), but I've always had a GM talk to me personally about whatever my question might be, and then do whatever they can to help me, as long as it is within their power and not against the game rules.

Want to see bad customer service?

Sit with me in a restaurant. They put us at the table with no server!

Come to Walmart with me and try and find someone to help you locate an item.

Lets conference call to deal with a problem with my Sprint account. First we will be on hold for 45 minutes and after you push a ton of buttons and start telling someone what you are calling about BAM, the call is dropped and we have start over!

On Spring Break I went to check into a hotel and they said they were full. After 45 minutes of looking, they found my reservation in their files, but the last room was already gone.

My son said, "this place has poor customer service" when he was 4. I didn't know that term existested when I was a kid.

I experience poor customer service on a regular basis. Cant say that UO is the worst.
