Finally I figured out, why some of the more expansive items in Genesis shop on ATL are sold in a bag.
Since the price is applied to a bag the owner of the vendor simply throws the bag away instead of paying the penalty for removing the item.
Again the cheaters found a way around :gun:

Are you saying that an item in a bag isn't penalized if removed and put back on, just the bag they were in??

Because I have removed items from bags and still had the item penalized.

There is a vendor fee based on the price of the item and it is collected at server up. In the past some people had gotten around this by taking the items off the vendor just before server down then putting it back on after server up. Dev's then put a stop to this practice by putting in a vendor penalty that shows up on a item that was put on a vendor for sale and was taken off the vendor (not purchased) before the vendor fee was collected. The vendor penalty shows up in the weapon description. If you put that item back on the vendor, that fee will get collected. The fee can be pretty high when your talking about 50+ million gold items on some of these vendors.

If you have multiple items in a bag, then how does it allocate the vendor penalty to each of those items?

The taking the item off before server up was fixed by the vendor penalty. Take the items off all you want, you will now still get hit with the fee when you put it back on the vendor. I was just answering the question as to what is the vendor penalty and why it was put into the game.

If anything, I would say the OP made a mistake by posting about vendor/bag/penalty. Maybe we now know who has their high item things in a bag for sale.

This is old news to me i figured that out a couple months back though i do not abuse the system i do know it exists. I for one think the vendor penalty is just dumb! they should have done it another way. Say 1% of vendor daily fee collected every 14.4 min if you do the math its basicly 100% of fee collected in a full 24 hour period and then would force people to either suck up the loss for selling 100mil items or not sell them via vendors. the penalty is a pain in the butt i used to move items from one vendor to another if i wanted to change the look of it all and did not have to take the items off my vendor into my pack then onto new one re price and describe i could just drag from one shop's pack to another and had no problems. Now i have to take it off into my pack then put on the other vendor reprice describe ext most of the time getting hit with a penalty for the move.... Yeah takes me many hours to get my shop looking right most often its well past 1/2 an hour that i decide that item belongs over on that vendor not the one its on now. Change it back PLZ Devs and put in a better fee collection system! I like my 14 min idea it would work and should not be so hard to do i could be wrong it might be hard to do but its just math and we are fancy calculators to play this game are we not? or are our servers truly hamster powered as some might suggest?
