Does anyone have that old link to the Origin farewill party outdoors in Austin? I think they burned some old files too.

Yes, I saw your avatar in another post and that's why I asked for the link. I knew that picture was from that event.

This is going to make me sound like a loser, but that event is one of the saddest events I have seen. I feel so emotionally connected to that event.

Origin was something special to me since my early teen years

I'm right there with you bud. OSI was THE powerhouse of game development. What other company had a roster like this:

Richard Garriott
Raph Koster
Warren Spector
Chris Roberts

Even John Romero. Haha.

I guess Curt Schilling's 38 Studios is trying to assemble an all-star group, but honestly... with Todd McFarlane onboard, I'm not very interested. That guy is extremely overrated. Just look at the crap in UO's LBR expansion. Horrid.

To be fair, that artwork wasn't originally designed to be included in UO.. It was designed for UO2. It looked a LOT better in the UO2 trailer, and I found it to be quite interesting. I loved the Spawn series for the longest time.

Most of LBR was material salvaged from UO2 before they closed it.

Yeah, I wish those guys who are archiving would update us on any Ultima stuff. I think it's just a huge task and they're in no rush to get through it. Bummer...

I remember watching my Dad playing Wing Commander when I was a little girl.

It was so awesome to see a video game in that time with talking characters and live people. I will never forget it.

That, and hearing a computer handshake at baud rates for the very first time.
