Bedlam Champ

My group has tried twice and failed to finish the Bedlam champ. We bring about 10-15 players and get about halfway then stall out at the interred grizzles. About the time we stop getting new candles our equipment is getting down near zero durability from the ear wax that the grizzles drop on the ground.

Can somebody give advice on how to finish this champ? How many players, what template does well, how to deal with the armor damage?

Tamers and necros is the best group, we normally do it with a group of about 5-10, now dont get me wrong, its hard!

a good tactic is obviously let the dragons tank as much as they can while the necros lay down para fields(very important as is carrying a blade, ill get to that in next para) and meteor/wither stack.

To the para fields, these are VERY important as it allows the dragons to divert all there attention to the grizzs which will dorp fast, these turn the plague beast lords blue and "invulnerable" (old quest info comes in handy!) at which point you cut them open as if you would skin a cow. after a breif time they disolve.

Without the para fields alot of the time your drags will tank the lords while the grizzs spit acid and generally creat a vast nuisance!

the next level is just as hard as the fetid essences have an area effect and dont stop spawning. The mummys are "relatively" easy and drop bandies too (which you will probably need to loot).

I have seen it done successfully 3 or 4 times on LS.

Each time, the tactics were pretty simple....Pound away; maintain a healing and rezzing station near the steps; bring LOTS of people, hard to have too many at that spawn; keep in mind that the plague beast lords are vulnerable to the old paralyze trick.

As to templates? I have gotten looting rights on the champ 3 times with a meelee warrior (Galen, of course, who is almost the only character I play).

And no, Galen is not a necro-samurai of any kind.

Any template can do well; any template can get totally owned.

good tips... i've done it a few times too.. healing/rez near the steps is a key.. as well as having someone who can rez making sure they stay alive... lots of peeps.. 8 minimum.. pups do well there.. great advice on having a blade to dispatch the plague beast lords when they turn.. having a tamer and a mage/dexer/necro work together is the best I've found, pet does the tank, and ev's/field spells laid down really do well.. and oh yeah.. use the new balms.. balm of protection *reduces the damage done by acid from griz, lasts for 30 minutes* .. and have fun!
