Draconi: AFK Silver farmers

Do you think it was a good idea to make the most powerful items in the game a reward for AFK farming?

Step 1: Get a ridiculously overpowerd Greater Dragon
Step 2: Put that dragon in a spawn area
Step 3: Go have a beer and laugh at programming decisons
Step 4: Take a nap
Step 5: Show up hours later and find your backpack ridiculously full of Silver
Step 6: Use newly un-nerfed bag of sending to transport Silver to the bank
Step 7: Realize checking character once a day is too much work
Step 8: Use script to send Silver from character to bank.
Step 9: Have more beers and laughing

Wont the dragon go wild after awhile if nobody is there to command it? I've noticed that training my pets, after so long they go to extremely happy then I need to command them again...

Wouldn't this person have to do the same? Couldn't you just kill their pet?

If human, use JOAT tracking to locate tamer if the char is hidden. Kill the tamer and take silver, or if no tamer can be found, then kill dragon. Pretty sure that if the owner of pet isn't around, the pet begins to lose loyalty.

It's called factions, this isn't newb tram where you could farm for toku marties. You can't go AFK and expect your little dragon will be alive in Fel after 10 minutes. Nice imaginary scenario though, maybe you should actually try it before complaining about it?

Cast EVS on red provisioners.

doesnt get much easier then that.

Now of course you cant do it at will like the OP's example.

But this can be farmed in trammel.

Wow.. farming silver in Trammel vs. the Invasion mobs/NPCs... that's pretty umm...not so efficient. You get 5 or 10 silver depending on the NPC. More often you get 5 than you do 10. By the time your EV kills enough NPCs you could kill more demons and have 2-3 times the amount of silver from killing the Invasion NPCs.

That's a pretty lame attempt at wanting to get something done about AFK silver farmers. Just report them if you think they're AFK in Tram doing this. Take a screenie etc... do you know people who do this 24/7 or something?

I don't see how farming silver in Trammel is effective at all and why anyone would do this when you can farm more efficient in Felucca. Talk about a waste of time doing this in Trammel. I'd rather take my chances in Fel, make 10x more silver faster and take the risk of being found.

They cant farm if they are dead...

Dont like them farming? Kill them until the ANNOUNCED UPCOMING PET CHANGES!!! Yes, announced...go look!

faction silver off allied mobs only drops in fel? no? Find the draggie, kill the draggie, find the afk faction toon, kill the afk faction toon and get alot of silver! No?

killing hatred npc's at a tram invasion with an afk tamer and greater... is that the scenario here? I'd page on them... maybe report them for duping too.. might get a faster response.

I don't have a ton of experience with Factions but does the silver just pop into your backpack or do you have to actually loot it like you do with gold?

And then theres the little NPCs that respawn arrows at 5 gold a pop.
And then theres your greed of wanting more faster. farming is farming.

Actually having to loot it would make sense. But then a 1000 people would be yelling he stole my silver.

Has anyone in this thread who says "page on them" actually ever paged on anyone? It is completely useless.

As for killing them....I get to play UO maybe 5 hours a week. Scripts don't sleep. AFK'ers can be on 24/7. Who is going to cover the other 163 hours per week if I devote my 5 to doing nothing but going after AFK silver farmers?

Yeah imagine that. Factions. Fel. Killing. PvP. And you actually have to loot the silver and you actually have to risk it being stolen from you.

Oh wait that might be fun.

Nah... that would make sense.

It's fun to stealth around the invasion cities keeping an eye on the packs of those who are farming silver. They only get a few coins per kill so rather than swooping in to steal their 2 sp...I'll wait around until they get a decent enough sum, then nab it. My thief hasn't played factions in years, but I have been able to grab near 10k in silver from players 40-80 sp at a time, lol...la

Hmm... I was in fel a few days ago, on my non faction tamer, training my dragon, hiding in a corner... Had to go afk (to break up a dog fight, ended up having to take one to the vet). Didn't have time to get out of the dungeon. Got back and someone had killed me >.<

I'm sure whoever it was wasn't impressed that they didn't get any silver, but hey, you wanna screw someone over, kill them and leave the pet be, if the person isn't there for long enough, they'll be out the silver and a pet.

Cowboy... kinda hard to kill someone in a Trammel Invasion spawn not on Siege...

Farming in Fel sure you can kill...

But someone commented on farming the invasion NPCs but I don't see how that is hardly worth the time/effort since you get soooooooo little per kill.

Raven, what point are you trying to make about arrows for 5gp a pop?

Moonglow, how is this silver farming affecting you? Are you sad that you can't farm it yourself to get uber faction arties? If they are farming in Fel, find and kill. If they're AFK in Trammel farming, page a GM, take a screenie etc...

I don't see why anyone would want to farm silver in Tram invasions though. Pitiful amounts drop.

Could you post a link to these upcoming pet changes? I must have missed something other than some townhall meeting notes where they said they were going to look into the damage output of greater dragons, and where they made it so that pets in factions wouldn't attack people in the same faction
