Duped Million dollar checks..?

This is posted on the Catskills forums boards about duped checks being droped at luna bank and also duped runic hammers it seems being handed out. This and its also been reported that someone also has been droping/handing out million in goldchecks as well on Drachs..the ones droped on Catskills where duped and reports are that the ones on Drachs handed out where more the likely dupes as well has anyone else seen anything like this happening on your shard?

Well the talk about duped hammers and checks has to be true. I seen 1 vendor on PAC that has like 45 Barbed Kits sitting on him.

I have never found out how to dupe anything and i been ob for 10 years. How do you find out the tricks. Are there websites or just have to find the right people. I just do not want to be left out lol. Not that i would do it , it takes the fun out of them game but i like to know how is it possible to dupe, 10 years and still never seen one being done or heard of a way to do it.

Im not at that point yet but it does make me not want to trust people not in my alliance when it comes to someone giving me something or buying something off a luna vendor. Then again also make me worry that someone I know thats honest and dosent do these things but somehow comes in possession of such items without knowing there illegal will get banned. Perhaps there should be some kind of system in UO that can help someone know if an item they have is duped or not..and if so the item be deleted.

They are probably handing the checks/hammers out on a trial account, and trying to get as many people as possible to have the stuff in their bank / house. This way when EA corrects their 1232345th mistake they can hope that "ea won't ban everyone, theyll just delete items".

These issues do exist since many years. They are bad for the economy, but even worse for the players' trust into the current development team.

I (and many others) still play UO, because we trust into the current game developers to fix the most serious issues in UO. One of which is the duping and cheating issue. The recent statement of Draconi made me believe that they have taken a big step forward against dupers, which made me very happy. You can imagine how this kind of news makes me feel now.

Crafting and selling things in UO makes absolutely no sense anymore. It is useless, a waste of time. Unless you spend 24/7 doing mindbogglingly annoying and stupid BODs. Or unless you dupe.

Why should I play a game like this?

Ah was just going by what that thread said. If not possible to tell by the way that thread says oh well..just hope no one get burned cause of the person just droping the checks on the ground sounds like there was alot of them. I know that EA can tell if a check is duped cause of the ID attached to the item. Still would be nice to have a way in game for us to know if an item is duped so we can avoid said items and vendors that sell these items.

Well i had bought gold from a site for $1 a million. Did it after my 4/5 year absence. I had no choice. When i left I paid like 500k for a full set of treasure hunting rune books. Now like 5 million. All the years i have never had more than 500k gold at 1 time. Now i blew 150 million gold in 2 weeks and still have nothing. I refuse to buy gold again but it does help out a lot.

Now how can these sites offer just to me 150 million gold in 1 shot. It has to be duped gold. I am 1 person for 150 million how many other by gold from them in 1 day. I do champ spawns 24/7 and only make about 30k a spawn but if you die 4 times you end up losing gold due to insurance.

Meanwhile, we take all such reports seriously, but we don't comment on actions taken in the course of investigations. Obviously, if this is some fellow just giving out a ton of checks he got by cashing in his Luna vendor's balance, then there's no cause for alarm.

Also, that whole thing about being able to "detect dupes" with UOA's "use by ID" functionality can't do anything of the sort. Nothing is communicated to the clients that would give away our cheat hunting secrets.

Did you know that I am currently doing an investigation of your investigations?

Unfortunately, I can't comment on my investigation. Just be aware that I take my investigation of your investigations very seriously. Just because you don't see any results from my investigation of your investigations for years at a time doesn't mean I'm actually doing nothing. Even though, it sure looks like it.

Truth. I lost an item recently that I used my uo assist "dress" macro for. When I replaced it the dress macro still worked for the item. I don't think uo assist recognizes any type of item id number or anything like that.
On the other hand, when you make a manual macro in uo assist to "use item" it will not use the same type of item unless you change the macro to "use item type" so there may be something to be said if the macro worked for multiple checks.
Hope this made some kind of sense LOL!

Yeah, EAs cheat hunting secrets are oh so clever, clever enough that not a single speedhacker has been banned in how many years now?

The cheat hunting secrets are so secretive that not even the EA staff knows what they are.

What do you mean you had no choice? Shouldn't it be a point of pride to a treasure hunter that they build their own collection of runebooks? ( compass, boat and http://uo.stratics.com/thb/info/maparchive/Archive1.shtml is all you need )

I'd be more worried about someone who thinks there is about to be a mass banning of dupe-holders attempting to flood the game to hide amongst the innocents.

It's called the UO Stimulus package because they didn't give us 11th Year vet rewards.
