Question about Luck

Does having over 1200 luck make my chances better at getting better loot, or is 1200 the "cap" so to speak and I wouldn't have any better chances at all with more than that?

I'm currently at 1420 and items that drop are usually pretty decent and in great abundance but if it's not worth having more than 1200 I may make some switches in my suit and make it more mage friendly with some +dmg and LMC.

As far as i know there is no actual cap to luck...only the physical cap of 140 on every piece, 240 in hands, 200 on chest/necklace 150 on hat 400 on jewels and the i think 500from statue if 10year vet.

This puts the "cap" at 1610 before you hit the statue (i think)

Almost... no actual cap on the luck statue. You get 100 luck from each additional year... I am getting 600 luck. You also can get a max of 1,000 luck from bushido and honor on your target. Altogether, puts you about 2800-ish for max luck. Luck does not kick in on every drop, just a chance to. But you can see a difference between zero luck, 1000 luck and 2000 luck.

And yes, it not only gives you a chance at better loot but also more loot in each drop when it kicks in.

I've given up on using luck. Its never seemed to help that much. My tamer has a nice luck suit and still gets crap loot lol

I cannot find where it was said but we were told over a year ago that the hard cap for luck in the games coding is 10,000. I believe it was one of the dev's, maybe even Draconi's reply.
So we cannot at this time reach a luck cap.

You know, I was CONVINCED that luck was pretty much useless until I went on a Miasma slaughter run yesterday and got some bang up items, especially jewelry! I was shocked to say the least !!

One of the best items was a bow: Elemental Slayer (yes, the general one), 25% SSI, 40% DI, HLD of some amount .. pretty cool!!

Which pieces are you talking about for the hat and hands? I've never seen any pieces that high for either of the two.

hat = Jester Hat of Chuckles - 150 luck
i think luck in hands could include either Jaana's Staff - 220 luck, or a Museum of Vesper Order Shield - 80 luck + a 140 luck weapon (one handed of course), but that's still 220. don't know how to get up to 240.

I think if you craft the Luck Blade with a val hammer you have a chance at hitting 160 luck. Its one hander so that with the 80 shield would put you at 240.

I dont know about anyone else, but about 6 months ago or so when Mellissa was spawning in the Wisp Dungeon I was getting insane loot. Every kill was getting me leet bows super good jewls and very nice armor. Im an archer and use a 140 luck magic short bow with 40hld, 40ssi, and 48DI and the rest of my luck armor with the jewls. Using honor/statue i had around 2900 luck, never seen such good loot.

Lately it seems though after doing countless amounts of Lady Mels, the loot factor has been notched down. Every once in a while i'll get a very very nice weapon but thats about 1 in ever 15 or so mels (nice as in pretty much all max stats, hld, hci, di, ssi and spell)...How about everyone else? anyone else see a dramatic downgrade in loot over the last 6 months?

To get max luck in wep shield slots need to make a luckblade blacksmith craftable max 160 on it when you make out of gold ingots and the shield +80
=240 luck in hands only thing is the blade is not easily made needs white perals and probably need heaps of them to get a 160 luck one but could be nice since its a leafblade hehe i want my dexxer to get one with mana leech 160 luck stamina leech dmg increase that would be a nice blade to run with

As far as I can come up with the highest I could get to was 3855 luck. This is count Perfection, luck robe, armor of fortune, sphinx bonus, luckblade, 80 luck shield, 10th anny sculpture, luck necklace, ring/bracelet set, jester hat, and 140 on arms, legs, and gloves.
