Can't Patch: Error during session.......

Mondains Legacy, with and without uo assist. Display the same message.
Error during session.
Your client may not be the most current version.
I went to uo.com as suggest and browsed the site. I didnt see anything related to patching.
Ive been through this before and I know its a simple fix.
Please advise

If you have altered your .mp3 music files to personalize the music in game, you will have the error till you replace the original files and patch. This is the issue I had.

Try deleting the patch folder then retry. If that doesnt work just re-install.

I cant believe I have to reinstall because of a patch.
I've seen alot of shoddy work while playing for 11 years.
I cant be the the only shmoinky experiencing this.
Any other suggestions?

UO cant patch the valentines Day patch and will not run.
The option to click OK to play never becomes active. I can only cancel.
Its the same with KR.
If I use UOasisst It still wont patch but at least I can play the unpatched version.
I uninstalled KR and downloaded a newer release and it wont patch up to current.
I havent modified any files, Ive checked the firewall. All patches go through and apply just fine until it hits the Val Patch

There were only 5 files altered in that patch. Find the file called 'patchlog' in your main EA directory and open it, scrolling down to the bottom should tell you which file caused a problem.

In order to be able to patch using Vista you have to right click the UO.exe file in the program folder and then use the option: run as administrator. Then you should be able to patch properly. At least that has always worked for me every time I´ve gotten the "you don´t have the current version" message.

Go to the directory you installed UO and open the "patchlog" file in notepad. Scroll to the bottom and you will find the information on why the patch failed.

Also if you have any files in the patch folder delete them. Those are the temporary files which the patcher downloads. One of them may be corrupted. It will automatically download the file(s) again.

The quickest method is probably going to be to reinstall UO. Make sure you backup your desktop directories. Check to see if you also have the one in the My Documents folder.

it looks like your client.exe got borked, my only suggestion would be to back it up and try copying a new one from the install cd if you can. Otherwise a new install and patch will do the same.

I completley deleted KR and it cleanly patched up to the valentines day Patch and is inoperable as previously stated. I'm not sure reinstalling 2d will fare better
I appreciate all the suggestions. I really do!
Reinstalling involves alot of............ *Wait for it* Patching!

Do I need to download another version somewhere?

I am not sure what version the trial account version is. I would go with the 8th edition and patch from there. I am currently looking for my 9th anniversary disks... I put them in a safe place...

That will not work. It will be missing all the previous patches done to that file. So he will run into the same error he is now.

I checked you can't open the data file to find it also. I am thinking I won't be able to open it to find the music.cfg file I altered and cant' find the backup for either, so will be doing a fresh install also.

Iv tried patching KR for ages now and it gets to the "downloading patch" part then just stops and doesn't download anything so im still playing 2d and havent been able to check KR out.

I have 8th age reinstalled patched and working.
How did I do this?
The long road of course.
Control panel,remove program. Ea Games 8th age and KR. UO asisst as well.
Search hard drive for all uo content. *.*
Reinstall using 8th age discs. Patch ,patch,patch. Coolies! it works.
Now KR
Seems to be on its way,Except I deleted the uokr manual.pdf with everything and I believe if I can download it all will just ducky from hear on out. Quack!
