Help I'm stuck tool isn't working

Well I logged in this morning to find myself dead. The problem is that I am in a stuck location. Adding to that problem the "help I'm stuck" tool no longer works as it has for ages, it asks me to enter a description and pages a GM. So guess I am stuck here until .... forever?

Sadly, the "help, I'm stuck" feature has been abused for a long, long time by players that were not really stuck...

Now, you have to type out a short description of the problem and A Gm has to verify that you are actually stuck with no other way out.

Hmmm ... they probably need smarter code then. Because being inexplicably dead on the roof of the New Haven bank is hardly trying to smuggle replicas out of a champ spawn. But both will net you a 2 hour wait for a GM to rescue you. (fortunately a player was able to res me after about 15 minutes).

I haven't (Recently) had to go that route - I always seem to get the city menu when I page stuck (As long as I am not in a champ spawn area. I tried it once in Fel when I had died to an X para field and it rooted my ghost too - until the fields dropped. Once the fields dropped I just hightailed it out)

Seriously?!

That's the only time I ever use the help I'm stuck feature. There are a couple islands or places I can only get to by teleporting ...

I guess now there are a bunch of somewhat dangerous places that I can no longer hunt. They should consider making it so that you can use the feature if it is a place you can normally recall from, even if you are dead. Or make it so you can use a runebook even when dead.

It sucks to be at the mercy of the spotty GM response time. GM response has been much better lately, but still ...

Seriously? Only if you're dead? That really is ridiculous if true. Like the previous poster, the only time I ever use "physically stuck" is when I'm dead. There are barely any situations at all where you can get physically stuck without being dead (ironically enough )

They need to increase the frequency of wandering healers in areas that are remote/impossible to leave while dead.


If you are on an island, for example, and you die and there are no wondering healers around...what are you supposed to do? I know for me, I have 2 accounts, so I can log in and go to that location with another character and open a gate, or rez the dead character...but if you only have 1 account, what are you supposed to do?

I consider being dead in a location that you cannot get out of while you are dead to be stuck.

What they need to do is allow you to use the help option as much as you want. This 'exploitation' and it's a 'been abused' blows my mind. Everything is an EXPLOIT is this game with some people.

Using the help option hurts no one.

"I pay my monthly subscription I should be able to use it as much as I want!"

I don't mind the Dev's implementing longer wait times for people who use the option...that's fine..but it's certaintly not an exploit and there is absolutely nothing wrong with using this in-game feature.

I don't know what's involved in using it, but it used to be restricted to 3 uses per day and abuse of the 'stuck' option is something that's been brought up many times.

It isn't the players that say it shouldn't be abused it's EA! I have never used it except in situations I physically could not get out of any other way.

The only place it's the biggest pain is in Malas...... where there are NO wandering healers at all ..... anywhere...... oversight perhaps?

Early on I died while exploring a nifty island I found..... (I was on a necro and came up on a group of pixies!)...... next thing I know I'm dead as all get out.... Was during the day and NO one in the guild was on...... I had to get on another computer and come rez myself...... was terrible. Never did recover my body either...... hehe...

Just another tool an active in game GM support could use. Random pop ins before they go to a town. They might just need a ride to a dark cold cell. The help stuck option could connect to the GM chat also. They may catch the call for help on their screen while on the 45 min break between pages.

There are wandering healers in Malas near Umbra in the large rotten forest area around Doom and the Necromancer's Arena.

I just had one of my tamers commit suicide near Grimswind and used the Help stuck option. Had no trouble with it. Got the normal list of towns to choose from and she was transported and rezzed and back to her corpse within three minutes of dying.
