[UO Herald] Housing and Veteran Reward Issues

We are aware of an issue with the housing and veteran reward system. We ask that you do not demolish or resize your house at this time as you will not be able to place a house until this issue is resolved. Additionally, you will be unable to retrieve your veteran rewards until this issue is resolved. While we do not have an ETA on a fix for this issue, our developers are working on this now in order to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our players. As always, please check the Herald for updates and thank you for your patience and understanding.

This message should be plastered across the login screen in big, huge, bright letters to catch everyone's attention. I can see people quitting left and right because they dropped their house to resize and ended up losing every single thing they had in the house because of it. I doubt many people make a habit of checking the Herald before they log in every day. There's really no excuse for it not to be done immediately.

It would make a ton of sense for you to put this information on the patch screen in big bright letters, no??? Especially the part about not demolishing or rezing your house because you won't be able to replace it until the housing system is working again....

Maybe have it where the resize command in game is disabled, and if you go to demolish a house a warning pops up. I don't check the UO Herald and usually I don't read the messages on the splash screen when I'm logging in either since its usually outdated.

I agree - this REALLY should be posted on the login/patch screen.

I can see people quitting left and right because they dropped their house to resize and ended up losing every single thing they had in the house because of it.

Connor - i thought in order to resize your house you pretty much have to pack everything up and remove it from the house and store it in your chars bank boxes/backpacks/pack animals before resizing so all your stuff doesn't drop to the ground for anyone to grab... i agree it would suck to have everything packed up and have to leave it that way until this is fixed, and thereby probably lose your housing spot in the process, but i don't think it would involve losing all your stuff unless they changed something.

I'm glad I only tried to trade a house to another account (which, of course, didn't work) instead of dropping the house and then trying to replace (larger) with the other account.

Can someone clarify for me what the issue with the vet rewards is?

Aboo - yesterday I logged in with one account that usually gets the pop up saying I have vet rewards available, but yesterday I didn't get that pop up box. I also clicked the scroll in my paperdoll that tells me how many months old my account is, and I got a message saying "cannot determine account age at this time" - I'm guessing that's what they mean. That vet rewards aren't currently available.

I'm not sure what the issue with the Vet rewards is. I claimed one (before I knew about the housing and vet reward issues) and had no trouble getting it. This was all of a minute or so before I tried (and failed) to transfer a house. It may not be a global issue with the rewards, maybe just in some cases there are issues right now?

I'm getting the reward gump with each character I've logged in with. Haven't tried to use it though.
