Transcendence - Justice - Problems

I know there are some changes coming next patch.

I however, have been doing some testing/gathering and want to give some feedback.

Transcendence scrolls in felluca are really crappy with the 105s. In the past 10 scrolls (non boss) I have had 1 Transcendence. Ok, pure pad luck maybe? But are they sure its 50%? Do they think the 105 is a reward at all? I'd rather have 500 gold pieces.

Ok, Protection with Justice. In the past, protecting range probably worked fine. Most people only needed protect on for the final boss. Now however, the range is not large enough. At least 3 times lately I have gotten a message, you are too far out of range to receive the reward. The person I am protecting is working the same spawn. You should not have to be tethered to a person to get the protection reward.

In times past, everyone gathered near the champ and it was large enough. But to work a spawn fast, we want to spread out, not be on top of one another the whole time.

Get rid of 105s, and increase Justice Protection Range in the next patch.

If in tram I get a .5 scroll where is the reward for fell risk? I get a 1.0, but i had a 50% (or less by my rng) chance to get a transcend. This making fell/tram equal. Now, protection is a reward, but thats sort a duel player reward, and even then as my post says, the range is not large enough to guarantee the reward.

In the past weeks a lot of new folks have ventured to Felluca to farm the SoT scrolls. Its drawing people in. Sure most level spawn from 1-3 and bail, but all more the better for the larger guilds who come in for the final kills.

Keep the reward worth the risk!

I know there are similar posts. I have participated in some, but I wanted to share a few numbers, and my problem with protecting.

As long as insurance lasts there is no Risk in Fel, so what you get a SoT and raided and killed, you don't lose anything of value you didn't have when you showed up outside a few thousand GP.

Saying Risk vs Reward is pointless, thanks to this. It shouldn't even be factored into the game anymore when developing Felucca content. The only reason to go to Fel is if you want a PvP interaction nothing else. Risk went out the door with AoS.

I did a quick check after your post and you're right, the current range is too limited. The idea isn't to prevent you from working the spawn freely but rather stop the abuse where players hide their protector in another dungeon or in a T2A town to keep him safe. The protector should be within range of the players he's meant to defend.

I've adjusted the range to 200 tiles, which effectively covers the entire spawn area of any altar. So as long as you're both within the spawn area, you should be fine. This will be effective in Pub 58.

So do you have to just be w/in 200 tiles of the protector anywhere on that subserver? Or do you both have to be within 200 tiles of the altar itself when the champ dies?

It is nice to be able to go sit at Papau/Delucia and wait to see if you get scrolls/items after you've been successfully raided =/

WOW awesome response time on this. Thank you so much for the quick fix and adding this to the next publish. I now have more of a reason to work up Justice on my blue spawner.

Now if we could only move those pesky 105s to somewhere else...

200 tiles from the protector. The important factor is for the protector to be reasonably close to you whenever you receive a scroll. So yes, technically if both you and the protector are away from the altar but still on the subserver, you could both get a scroll. That is, assuming whoever raided you didn't heal the champ.

Ok, just making sure you don't have to be at the atlar or where the champ died.

I think that'd suck for a lot of people who work the spawn, and are overcome by a raid, and end up with nothing in the end.

Can the protector hit the champ and still recive protection scrolls?

Yes he can. But he will only receive dubs for the people under his protection. He will not receive dubs from scrolls he personally receives from the champ. For instance, if 3 people are killing the champ, Player A is protecting Player B and C. From killing the champ, Player A, B and C each receive 2 scrolls. Player A will get 2 dubs from Player B and 2 dubs from Player C, but none from himself. So a total of 10 scrolls will drop instead of the 12 possible scrolls.

It took me a couple days to read my post here.

I asked and I received. Awesome work, thx for the great fast response!

The range add, could benefit some abuse in specific areas. But not much, and is out weighed by the overall usefulness of protection for SoTs (working the spawn freely)
