So I got curious and reactivated my account. I haven't puttered around in UO since Samurai Empire and there are quite a few changes. I had a few questions that I was hoping people could help me with:

* What's the most populated city on the Great Lakes realm? Britain? Luna? I didn't see too many people around when I was in Brit yesterday. Real people anyway. For some reason a bunch of npcs with (Hatred) attached to their names kept trying to kill me though. What's that all about? I'm sure it was coincidental with my return, but it felt like a strange welcome back .

* Where to get good gear? I checked out UO Auction but it was completely empty. Back in the day people would list literally thousands of items there. Is there some sort of in game replacement? Or do I just need to go vendor to vendor to find stuff?

* Following up on that, I assume gold inflation is worse if anything. Will a few million buy me any decent arties/gear for my dusty old paly?

* Are there still pick up groups that go to Doom? I went to Ish to kill some dragons and random paragons and stuff... but it would be fun to do something with people.

* I wish I hadnt let my house decay, but I guess it's been so long that anything I owned would only have been limited use. Except for that soul stone... I don't suppose there's any way to recover that? Are they available as rewards? I think I still have some vet rewards i never used.

Anyhow, hope to see folks around. I never thought Id log back in but it was actually pretty fun to play last night.

Quick run down!
Brit town is empty on most shards, everyone has moved to Luna.

Currently we are in an Event where any Fel town that can contain a Faction Sigil, can be invaded with creatures on the Tram side, up to 3 towns at a time.

Good gear is easily found by shopping Luna Vendors.

Gold is plentiful and fairly easy to obtain by just hunting. Try your shard's champ spawn areas, lots of gold to be made there currently.

As for hunting groups, this will vary by shard you play most likely.

If you lost a SS due to house decay, it cannot be recovered unless you happen to get it back from whoever may have looted it. We do have the option to claim a SS now as a vet reward.

The [Hatred] tag is part of the event story arc going on right now, when a city is under invasion status (East Brit gets invaded not West) all the NPC's in the city pretty much adopt one of 3 flags. Hatred, Cowardice, Falsehood. The Hatred NPC's will attack you. Cowardice will run from you, and Falsehood NPC's will steal an item from you and then try to run away! Try looking for folks in Luna, and New Haven I don't play GL but Those are the most populated on most shards.

Once again you'll have to search around Luna for the most part it's become market central.

most of the decent arties start at around 2 mil on most shards. Good weapons can run from 1 mil to 40mil, armor dependent on mods, a couple 100k to 10's of mils per piece. This varies a bit from shard to shard so best bet is to go looking.

Only way to tell would be to go to doom and check. I honestly wouldn't know I rarely go to doom. But if past experience is anything you should be able to find folks.

1st Year Vet Rewards have soulstones listed. You can pick them from that, Outside of those finding your old one assuming it was looted at an IDOC for decoration would he rough.
