Improve Journals

Recent em events have made me think that our journal is missing a useful tool a button to click on and target any player or npc that ignores them will not fill your log with useless junk and allow people to actually have a clue what was said. Would be even better if it had the option to squelch the player so you never have to read the garbage that would come onto your screen from them.

its an idea probably had many times by many people so why or why not?

Knowing the devs, instead of providing a good fix for the problem they'll just say to use this. *coughcough*Exorcism at champ spawns*cough*

That would typically work, but it's somewhat hard to target a player who's running back and forth in building filled with 50+ people in it spamming to the point you can't see anything clearly. =D

And don't harp about Ctl+Shift either, impossible to find the person with that many names, and not to mention the lag it creates... For me anyways

most annoyingly, some of them don't say a word until they say the thing that makes you want to put them on ignore and the room is full and you can't find the little buggers

Exactly what happened at the beginning of the Atlantic event. Someone started running back and forth in front of the EM spamming spells so no one could see what she was saying.

Luckily for my friend, I always have my journal open and was relaying what she said as soon as she said it before the spammer would start up again, but it truly is insanely hard to find the buggers

I think it would be simple and effective to give us chat options. For example, before an event, I go into options and uncheak "hear players", this way, I will only be able to hear the EM.

I expect to get flammed for this, but world of warcraft has a similar feature, and it works well.

It would just give us a way of weeding out all the clatter with one button.
