like 100 of us are in the cell block of Covetous... nothing is happening, but the EM sent us here. Any help anyone?

Nice try, but its not nice to send people off to kill something that's been around for years and isn't supposed to be killed.

i left when everyone got there and started spamming the npc to get it done first. that event is about as poorly thought-out as i can imagine :X
none of us can figure the event out; we were told to go to serp pillar. when we get there, there is nothing there but 100 empty boats

He sent us to the 3rd lvl and was talking about the rotting corpses and guillotines and we got there and there is some orish guy, and he is obviously an oracle.
If there was no one at the serps pillar that it because you came late, we fought like 4 crazy serepents to rescue the EM. If you couldn't figure out the clues that is what EM events are all about. I found it very fun

Some people just need to learn who to pay attention to. Others just need to learn how to pay attention. I was part of a group of about 15 people more or less (it was a blurry circle we had and were VERY free with the information), and we found following the clues relatively easy. To make it super easy, any time you see a yellow name who doesn't belong, follow the npc's advice. If someone else is already working on a puzzle or with an npc, don't interfere. You'll be able to follow the NPC's direction or get to the source of the next password just as well by following than by hitting switches at random or posting on a message board about how much this event sucks (by the way, not pointing fingers here, as nobody in this thread has said it sucks, but there is another thread which does exactly that over another shards EM event).
I liked the event very much and do not at all understand what people are complaining about (first they complained about not having events, now they complain about having events, what the hell??).
I admit that the event had one minor drawback though: You had to be in a group of people who worked together, and you had to be relatively fast, cause the event ended at the Serpent's Pillar and those who were late had no idea what had happened.

I too enjoyed the event very much, but like others I was working with a party to solve things. It was tough trying to find out what clues the ophidian named Orisish was giving with so many people spamming at him. Still I was lucky enough to catch the clues that directed us to Clainin, and told everyone to check there that was standing around me.
The major hangup was in Doom with the lever puzzle where people were throwing the switches to just grief other players. That should of been a easy part to complete if only people would of worked together. When the box was recovered everyone was asked to enter the gates to return to the ophidian only the mass spammers and folks running around like nut cases made some miss it.
There the ophidian gave the coordinates to where Kasaven could be found at sea, and small dragon ship deeds started dropping on the ground for the next part of the quest. Problem there was there was two players who were grabbing all the deeds up as fast as they appeared. My party was lucky enough to get a ship and made it to the pillars in time to help kill two of the sea sirens and find Kasaven on top of one of the pillars.
So this event was not a bust but was a madhouse with so many people acting bad with them spamming and trying to ruin a fun event for everyone else. I am starting to think that rare one of a kind event rewards should be removed, because the greed was showing big time last night. Also throw in that some of people there were from other shards and just wanted the reward items to take back to their home shard. It made it a griefing event with the sole purpose of ruining things for others so a very few could profit from it.

Well I thought it was a bit unfortunate that not everyone that participated got a reward or a little something special to commemorate the event. Even though my main shard is Sonoma I have at least one moderately skilled characters on the other North American shard just so I can participate in the events. Well last night I participated and while standing there at brit castle waiting for the reward or prize I never got one. I still don't even know what the reward was that was given out. I think that even if you come from another shard and you participate all the way through the event that you should receive a reward just like everyone else.
You are right a small reward for taking part for everyone would of been nice too. (I was going over my journal this morning and noticed many names who didn't do the quest at the end. I hate when people just show up hoping to get something for doing nothing.) Oh and the rewards were three Sea Siren skulls and the others that got an reward got a sash made from the sea sirens scales. None of these items were overpowered and were more of an decorative item that can be cherished by those who received them.
I don't mind people who take part in events on other shards for fun as much as people who do it to make a profit. I have always thought that EM event items should be made so they can never be transfered off their home shard. They are a part of that shards history and to know they are sitting on another shard does bother me a good bit.

In my personal opinion..... I think there shouldn't be any rewards to the masses for things done by EM's.....
Why? Because then you get all the low life scum showing up just in it to make a quick buck.... and you get folk from every other shard there showing up for the "reward" when any reward really should stay on the shard..... In my opinion the "Shard" as a whole should get some sort of reward..... placed somewhere on the shard..... a commemorative sort of piece somewhere that commemorates the event for the ENTIRE SHARD not just one or two individuals....
And this yes this comes from someone who DID receive a nice white lantern on GL..... However I still believe that rewards should be for the entire shard not just one person.... if it's some sort of chain event then it should be set up to do by going from NPC to NPC and then each person who "finishes" the quest run should get an item given by the NPC ..... this way individuals get a reward it's fair and honest..... each person should only be allowed to do it ONE time.... But as far as an event done by the EM's I think that any reward would be commemorative and would be for the shard.... such as a book or a memorial placed on the land for all to see..... but no one person to have.
