Are you sure about that? I remember a spawn guild I was in some years back said they tested it, and the previous level's spawn had no effect. When champion spawn advances to new levels, does killing spawn from previous level help advance the current level further?
Yes. Killing any creature from any level linked to the currently active spawn will help advance the spawn further.

At the time they released the Paragon code, some years ago, Champs were specifically excluded. If Twaulo is spawning as a paragon, that's some kind of bug and I'd guess he isn't reading as a champion for some reason? Is the champion in the Twisted Weald, Twaulo of the Glade, supposed to be spawning as a paragon?
Any creature in Ilshenar has the potential of becoming a Paragon. After reviewing the increased difficulty this represents, it has been decided to prevent champions (only) from becoming Paragons. This will be effective as of Publish 58.

Off topic...Great FOF this week.
I'm excited about SA coming out just wish we knew about how long it will be before it comes out.![]()
The BOD system and the Heartwood system are equally tedious and just facilitate scripters. Make a new, better system.Awesome FoF! Please.... let there be a BoD system for runic Mallets!
Agreed. Both are script magnets. But I think the heartwood system is a bit worse. BoDs move the RNG factor to the BoD itself swayed in a certain range by actual skill. You don't waste resources on BoDs that yield nothing if you choose not to. With Heartwood quests you are forced to burn resources by the truckload. The BOD system and the Heartwood system are equally tedious and just facilitate scripters. Make a new, better system.
I believe the "to be determined" part is pretty close to an open call for suggestionsMake a new, better system.
uh-oh, *wonders if this keeps up, whether I'm going to spontaneously start criticizing it*OmG!!!! An informative FoF.
I'd like to see more of a developed relations ship between players and NPCs happen here, and maybe an option for guild support of crafters working the system and a creation of mini event(guard the caravan) by crafters that would provide opportunities for multiple person play, not to replace the systems as they work now, but rather to augment and remove the tedium from them.I believe the "to be determined" part is pretty close to an open call for suggestions
Personally I like the BoD system. There are not a lot of in-town systems and it's a nice change from having everything revolve around monsters.
Although I liked heartwood while I was collecting recipes, once you're grinding for runics, it becomes far, far, far too monotonous for my tastes.
Exactly. I kind of missed making that point. If we pretended scripting doesn't exist, BoDs would be much more fun.I believe the "to be determined" part is pretty close to an open call for suggestions

Why not just remove race restrictions? Elves weren't exactly implemented in full balance and what does it hurt to allow armor to be interexchangable between races? We are also currently working on an item alteration feature for some of the crafting menus that will allow a player to take Human or Elf weapons and armor and alter them into their Gargoyle equivalents
