Did the patch do this?

Last night I went out fighting Orge Lords, (I try to off at least 1 or 2 a day just to keep my fame level high enough to keep my Lord title) and I got my head handed to me like a first week player fighting in the nude. I used my same suit (all 70's, +15 dex), and my same ogre slayer katana, and fought using the same tactics I have in the past. Enemy of one, concecrate weapon, and usually I am able to take one down in 5 hits max (usually closer to 2 or 3). My template is the same, my suit is the same, my weapon is the same. Why was I taking so much damage last night? I nearly died 3 times. My armor isn't in need of repair, I was healing like usual, damage output was normal, but I was taking a ton of damage. Did they buff orge lords or something, or was I just having a bad night with the RNG?

or they been working out I have not seen this yet, I don't fight them with a swords person so will have to ask others to see if they been buff.

silly question, but you couldn't have picked up an undead slayer sword by mistake? or wearing a talisman with an undead slayer property?

Nope, the only undead slayer I own anymore is a holy sword, and that's packed away in a crate at my house because I can't seem to kill liches anymore, and my talisman is a primer on arms damage removal.

I just went and tried one on GL and it seems normal. I was taking 30 damage from them with 70 resists, as usual. Do you ride a swampy?

I took my tamer into Despise and lored a few, figures match up to what's on Hunter's guide.

Btw, I still kill lich on my paladin swords warrior. I do use an armoured swampy though, I wouldn't use holy sword, too darn slow, they get to hit you too much. I made a UBWS silver etched mace with a bronze hammer, bit of SSI on it, does the job beautifully. Usually in Covetous 3 where I can channel them down the corridor and re-group outside if they get me a bit low. I try to leave the lich somewhere up the back though so that I get the lich lords instead, EoO consecrate.

You've confirmed that your resists are still normal? That you don't have one of those Ward spells like Protection on, or that you don't actually have on the wrong gorget or something?

Could be, surely.....You weren't taking any more damage per hit? For some reason I thought you were....Yeah, if you weren't taking any more damage per hit, just being hit more often....Bad luck with the parry/defense....Maybe make sure you haven't accidentally removed some DCI?

Just a quick thought. I logged onto my Bard the other day and switched from luck gear to LRC. As i took off the last bit of armor, I noticed my physical resist was -15 (or something like that). There weren't any spells/debuffs being indicated, so I was confused for a bit. I went ahead and cast (MR or RA) and my physical went back to normal. But it never did show in the buff/debuff indicator.

Your post made me remember that I DID change something. My glasses! I used to wear folded steel reading glasses (15% DCI), but the other day I changed to mace and shield glasses. (No DCI) But I never take my glasses off when I remove my armor, so it had totally slipped my mind that I had even changed them. I'm betting that, combined with a run of bad luck on the RNG, is what was causing me the trouble.

I'll have to do a little research tonight when I get home from work, but I'm betting that was what the problem was.

My suit is in need of a redesign anyway. Maybe it's time to swap a few pieces out for something with better mods.

I have no issues with my armor holes. Without them it would be pretty hard to wear it.

Yeah, if your using EoO on one thing everything else will do 2x damage.

yea a lot of people forget this!

nothing will kill you faster than sevral demons or liches, doing double damage flame strikes at the same time because you were not carful!

oh and double damage pain spikes for the loose!

I have no issues with my armor holes. Without them it would be pretty hard to wear it.

I've been noticing some lag on the dungeon subserver lately specifically in despise Ogre Lords area. Everything is going along fine, then suddenly there will be a stutter (maybe a slight freeze) and the Ogre Lord will hit 2 or 3 times in at once. If it wasn't for vamp form I would be dead.

I fight those from time to time for skill gain above 100, and I didn't notice any change. However, even with a slayer it takes at least 10 hits to kill one, and even with a 70s suit this bugger will slay me in 3 or 4 hits.

Tried again today, killed 3 in a row will little trouble. I still seem to be getting hit more, but I'm thinking thats from the 15% DCI I lost by changing my glasses.

Must have been the RNG plotting against me.
