Pet Anatomy Q&A...I Hope!

Okay, I've tamed 2 very nice Fire Steads (I feel the need to have a sampling of every pet in the game!). Their Anat started at 0.# and has very slowly increased to the low 70s.

It's surprising how few creatures in UO have "any" Anat! Do I need to be fighting critters close to my pet's current Anat to gain? Because I can gain on creatures with zero Anat, just not often!

Is there any way to speed up their Anat gains? I've tried Discoing them but that doesn't seem to increase the gain rate. Having the Fire Steads as the primary attacker seems to produce the best gains but it's still really slow.

Is my only alternative to mine-up a Shadow El, tank with a Cu from a 2nd account and let the Fire Steads fight the El for several days???

Anatomy is a slow gaining skill, i would always advise shadow ele training as its so easy. Boring yes but easy...throw a disco on there should only take a couple of hours really

No you do not need to be close to same skill with your target for your pets anatomy to gain. Gains in anatomy seem to slow way down once wrestling and tacts hit GM.

Just take them out and use them. Anatomy will get there on it's own. I seem to get the best gains by giving my pets many targets at once to kill (not on purpose always).

I found the exact same thing: the more sparing partners the greater the gains.

Thanks all for the suggestions.
