Still burning in Luna

Since its been months and months and there is still burning ruins where a dupers house once stood in Luna, how about a contest for that spot. It seemed that MANY people participated in "the book of truth" event I was thinking it would be fun to do something like that again. Only this time, the one lucky person on each shard that turned in the one "special book" would have a house deed pop up in his/her backpack, giving them the exclusive right to place a house where the burning house now sits. You would have to make it so the deed would have to be used within 48 hours of drawing it or it would poof and the contest would go on.

I know many people that would LOVE to have that house spot..and I know of MANY more that would love to have the gold from selling that deed/house spot. I think this would be a great way to get people back out and playing. The only change I would make is to make the books appear on ANY monster...not just ones in dungeons. Any monster/and facet/ on any place on the shard.

Anybody else think this might be a great way to get that ultra rare house spot??

As to why they don't do it? Well, one possibility is that people who don't get the house will claim it rewards script PvMers.

Why don't they just let people place houses there? People will complain it rewards script house placers.

There's nothing they can do that won't **** someone off, so I can understand why they haven't done anything yet.

Luna was and still is the best place to shop and unless you plan on moving everyone out, its only fair that you release the burning plots. Luna is such a congested overpriced flea market eyesore that I wish the flames would spread and flatten the rest of it.

It wouldn't quite such a host spot if not for the search sites.

When I need to buy, I buy anywhere else that I can even if it takes more time and money.

If you don't like Luna and don't shop there then what do you care about what someone else does there?

If you don't care for the house then why would you care if someone else gets it?

Like how people say they hate tokuno dyes because it "Hurts their eyes" If something on your monitor is hurting your eyes, you need to turn your brightness down. People need to stop worrying about what other people are getting and doing when it doesn't affect them. That is the reason why this game is the way it is now.

Hmm how about turning one burned plot/shard into a Luna Repository to beautify the city. Charge an additional 10% fee on all vendors placed on plots within the outer wall and all NPC vendors within the city. Funnel this fee into the repository and offer all land owners within the outer wall a percentage of the repository reserve per square tile of land they own. Once they sell their plots to the city, use the land to expand the NPC shops moving them further out into the city.

I say that the burning plots should be turned in to parks or fighting pits (fel ruleset when entered). Like many people have already said, we want less of Luna, not more. I would love to see all of luna burned down.

Btw its not only luna with major Burning...Sometimes its nice to warm up next to a fel house on fire on those cold nights to warm up thy hands...

The only changes they need to make in Luna is to move the moongate outside the city walls and move some of the NPCs to the Inner wall areas for shops (similar to the stable).

I have no house in Luna nor any realistic prospect of ever having one (sorry, simply refuse to pay hundreds of dollars in an ICQ trade for a darn house.)

Yet I say burn it all down.

All that is actually in stock in Luna most of the time anyway are trash rares, usually overpriced, rubble, always overpriced, and lots of myriad armor and weapons no one wants to buy. For any real essentials outside of arties you have to go elsewhere, or craft it yourself, anyway.

I say either leave the burning houses there, or remove them and turn the spot into something for everyone. A park, maybe put a pond with ducks, turn it into an outdoor execution spot (for reminders to what happens to cheaters.)
In other words, no one gets to place a house in that spot, ever!

Maybe just do the park-space idea and have a shrine with effigies on each shard, with a running tab of how many houses have been burninated? (Kind of like what I hope could appear on uo.com, or even in the update section when logging on, after noticing similar on warhammer's site )

Buzzards and black crows on the premises. Occasional undead spawn which kills nearby shoppers.

How bout we just burn the city of Luna to the ground, leave the vendor houses so ppl still have their one stop shopping mall, and put a gypsie camp in the place of the city. Maybe people will stop taking advantage of the one stop shopping center concept of luna. Maybe have a gold sink type turn in where the gypsies have the names of people who turned in the most gold/items. Just a thought, and hand them some pixel crack so they don't complain.

They should just make some ridiculous thing like when AOS first came out for the houses that are in the mountains. Some kinda of crazy event that takes forever to do....that involves finding hidden items at the bottoms of dungeons that no one ever goes to and then using those items in some other place that no one ever goes to....expand the game again so that everyone isn't confined to spawns and LUNA......If so many people want these houses I think something like this would be interesting..kinda like an event across UO....like several things you must do in each facet..fell, tram, ilsh and tokuno, and they are hard things to find and do. None of the items can be insured so they can be lost and they don't ever spawn in the same location just somewhere in that facet....sounds ridiculous and it is ridiculous but you would see people everywhere looking for this stuff and it wouldn't be completed any time soon.

I've always thought it would be awesome if UO was like that. When I was a noob many years ago and I explored dungeons in Ilsh or whatever, I would hope to find something special that no one else has found at the bottom of a dungeon or on a creature that no one has seen before. It would create a unique and thrilling playing environment. The reason I say this is because I've played for around 10 years now and I can honestly say that I only play for PVP. I used to be an avid explorer and "PVM" type person who also loved PVP. But now I've gained everything that I truly desire in the game and exploring dungeons that I already know contain generic monsters and boring loot is a waste of time. If they could spark a fire by doing something that adds new reasons to adventure in UO; I think it would be much more fun for everyone and there would be much more life in the UO community.

Whoever donates the most gold to a npc that is placed at the plot should win the plot, the npc will take checks and coin. that would be the ultimate gold sink. the other top 19 would win a one of a kind item. the rest would get a blessed robe +10 phys that says "I gave away all my gold for this stupid robe, I guess its my sign" (random any color in the uo spectrum)

I say level Luna too! I so miss hanging out at WBrit Bank and watching all the activity. Luna is just a place to cut corners and was probably made for the people who whine about it taking too long to do things. Plus Luna just about killed any other vendor from making a decent living. We always have to sell our wares WAY underpriced just to make enough to keep a store running at all and it gives so much of an advantage to those few players who were lucky enough to get a spot.

Have a bucket brigade fire spawn...fastest "fire" killers get the spots. Have to use water pitchers on the flames and anyone using "special" ones gets their house flamed too. If they don't have a house then they become flaming puddles...

Or make them quest water items in the same vein as the venom sac's were supposed to be used on the graveyard bone poles.
