You don't.

Any given item....You tell me how to tell if it was made from a duped hammer or not.

How about a scripted barbed kit? Not much worse than a duped hammer, really.

Or a scripted runic fletching kit.

Overpowered weapons being common is not exactly a sign of mass duping. Overpowered weapons being common was inevitable with the introduction of runic kits. With weapons never breaking and crafters continually making more and more uber weapons, the market was bound to become common with overpowered weapons.

That is not to say people are not duping the kits. I agree that they need to do something again (don't forget the recent burnings in Luna, that was awesome , so no, the devs are NOT ignoring the duping issue), but banning everyone with a duped item is not smart since anyone can buy them. Instead I would suggest a mass deletion unless they can be sure who is duping and who just stumbled upon the item.

Morgana, in all seriousness, if the post-2002 paid version of UO makes you so miserable, why don't you just quit? Wouldn't the free shard you've said you administer/administered make you a lot happier?

Lets just have the devs delete all "npc-sold" weapons and armor" along with all wood, ingots and leather... and all hammers, sewing kits and fletching tools etc...

Let's just wipe the shards and let everyone make newbies and start 1000 gold again...

Clearly there is still a dupe that works. It is most likely BOD reward specific because you don't see a million other rare items flooding the market or even the Heartwood saws/fletcher's kits (they do run out of stock quite often, those are gotten the old fashion way).

They should probably just turn off Barbed and Valorite/Verite/Agapite runic collection completely and then delete every one of those existing in the game. Also they need to delete every single BOD which can be used to collect them. Wait a couple months or until some time after the Stygian Abyss release to restart it.

Ummm... by that logic... wouldn't a 7 year revert cause the "mass deletion of items" followed by the "mass quitting of players" on a much grander scale?

Not all l33t weapons are duped.

I've personally picked up (then sold) a very incredible Ornate Axe from Parox.

It was awhile ago, but the mods were something on the order of 45-50% for Hit Lightning, Hit Lower Defense, Damage Increase, something else, and 25% Swing Speed Increase.

What it may well be is that BOD books containing duped BODs didn't/don't get detected by the dupe checks that EA ran/run (perhaps because they're stored on not for sale vendors, or just something about the BOD book coding makes them undetectable)

Hey I don't know how scripters use accounts, free or not. I've just always heard talk about abuse of trial accounts. I know restrictions on trial accounts will take care of a lot of things. Some scripters perhaps. Maybe you know more about scripters than I *shrugs*

The last time I checked you could only get 1 BOD every 6 hours unless you turn one in. So your calculation is way off. It should be 7 characters x 4 (maximum number per day) x 25 shards (not counting Siege and Mugen) = 700 BODs per day. If someone was really doing this it would take a long time to build up enough stock on each shard to be worth transferring over.

But it is pretty clear that the Valorite Runic Hammers are not being acquired this way. There are sellers/vendors which have a seemingly endless supply. Some people buy 10/20/more runics at a time. What is more is some people who sell them (or used to, I don't know who's selling now) admit they are obviously duped.

While the acquisition of deeds level is inbetween the 700 and 4830 numbers, it is much more probable that it is duping, not scripting, especially with the number of x-shard dupes since that program started.

Get .1 tailoring so you get a cloth BOD every time, then its 1hr per bod (I think). Then on your main tailor, who has a higher chance of brk bods you get a bod, turn in cloth, get a bod, turn in cloth... ect.

All it took was for some one to dupe a few full Val Hammer BODS in books, It wouldnt take lng to fill a BOD book with 500 Filled Val Hammer BODs and dupe that book which was prob what happened. Now all they did was hide these books which was also talked about. Easily two books = 1000 Val hammers.

ALL these leet weapons are Val Hammer made and yes it is sad they cannot be delt with but even sadder is it is konw and easy to find.

I have seen vendors with 25+ val hammers. This according to number should be tecnically IMPOSSIBLE. It was once stated about 1 Val hammer per year should be avail per shard LMAO.

You cant mass ban people for using completely legit items, however I do agree in some weps are pretty nasty!

However this is just a con to having a comepletly customizable game!

50% of UO players cheat right? People said so in other threads, so it must be true. That's a lot! But it does also mean that 50% of players do not cheat. So at least half of us, by definition, must be more than willing to delete our own items on your word.
