How about instead of making the eythy already dyed how about making it so that a 10 year vet can use any and all of the tokuno dyes both the old original dyes and the new ore colored ones on any eythy mount. I think it would be nice to have a valorite colored horse or llama or polar bear.

I think there should be rewards for vets, absolutely. I like being rewarded for my loyalty as much as the next person.

That being said, I think that game changing rewards that give vets an advantage over non vets are completely inappropriate.

Vets having 20 more skill points to play with than new players is wrong, because it gives them an advantage (however small some argue the advantage to be)

Your suggestion, which may have been innocent enough, would give an unfair advantage in PvP situations where a quick remount can mean the difference betwen surviving and getting whacked.

The vet reward robes/dresses are a good example of how the Vet reward system should be worked. Long term vets have the option of a +3 physical robe in some really nice colours (dark grey being a particular fav of mine). The +3 can be handy, most def, but, 1 year accounts can also take advantage of this bonus, albeit, without much of a colour choice.

Note: Vets get nice bonus + get to look extra cool with their nice coloured robe. Younger accounts still get to keep up with the bonus that vets benefit from without the choice of colours.

(The only thing that could be improved here is the copper/bronze being available to players from the moment they open up a paying account for a certain amount of gold)

Some new colours for 6/7/8/9 year could also be added in maybe, with some of the wood colours perhaps... But thats for another thread.

As to the rest of your quote, there should be advantages to being here longer. A new player shouldn't have the same things as someone whose played here a few years. And the part I quoted is the mindset that is killing this game. Everyone has to win, that's why there are egos and that's why people use exploits and cheats.

How about something that actually looks good. You remember the old Dragon armor that actually looked cool... Maybe it was only in 3d, but it actually looked GOOD. What if they gave 11 year vets a new resist robe... something with NEW and actually well done graphics. Even if its along the lines of a GM robe, a simple dyable shroud with a gold tassel belt and lined neck/cuffs. Something that wount effect gameplay, but will actually be enviable to younger players. Something to make them say, "wow, thats cool, I cant wait till I can wear one of those."

Now if you really want to implement something cool... how about this... Come up with 4-5 new armor set designs, stuff that actually looks cool (Like the old Dragon Scale Armor, imho) and then give as a vet reward an "Armor Scuplting Tool" This tool would have say 10 charges, and you could target any piece of armor, like platemail gloves, and change them into the new graphic of your choice. That way vets could not only make their suit match, but also give it a new enviable look. This is something I would love to get as a vet, something that would make me say "Dang, I cant wait until my account can claim that" Doesnt unbalance the game, lets the vets who have contributed the most get something cool, enviable, valuable, and new as a reward for 11 years of loyalty. I see nothing wrong with making your oldest most loyal customers feel valued. In fact, I think it would be wrong not to give them something extra. For all you people who dont think its fair, get real. You can get the same thing, once you have put in the same amount of time and money they have. Thats the problem with our society today, everybody wants and demands the same things others have, but they want it without having to put in the same amount of time and work somebody else put in to get it. The Vet Reward program is one of the best things this game has, and I say go all out. Show the players that UO appreciates longevity and values its most loyal customers!

I would rather have a pure white and almost black horse summonable, but not as a 10 year maybe like 4th or 5th.

Everyone's a winner is a figure of speach. What I am getting at is that vets can be given their medal of honour for being here so long WITHOUT putting other players at a disadvantage.

I have seen many many maannnnny millions spent on these in Auctions and I think that should still be one of the nice things within UO to keep rare.

We already have this, it is a 10th year reward.

I agree with you, it would be a shame to ruin one of the most prized pets to own by making them available through a selection menu to quite alot of players.

The idea isn't all that bad though, perhaps they can create a brand new creature as a mount that would be summonable through a statuette and only exists in game as a mount for 11th year vets...

See now there is a good ideal. Sorry but if you write to much never get a response, takes to much effort to read, I know. But you hit the nail on the head about a veteran player standing out. The Polar Bears was an award winning addition. Newer players walk by the group of neon freaks to the guy on a polar bear and reward white robe to ask a question about the game everytime. At the rate they put out stuff, the unique armor ideal would be great, and something they can do for the 12 year reward. But need to make it easy and have three+ designs. Suits the have a template in mind like mageish----good/evil heavy armor-------mythrill light archer-------ranger wilds. And the reward chosen could be EARINGS of the armor type. That when worn by the aged account any armor placed on paperdoll take on that new look. Just have to have a poll run on Hall if it should retain color or a one off color all the looks share.

As the poster may have intended to say is that the 10 year eath Cu doesn't stand out like the Polar Bear 9 year ride. What game are you playing to think this a good ideal? See now more over the cow but a none eath Bull would fit right in with the vegas strip colored armor.

K.I.S.S. would be the armor horse that has the proxy swampy effect. A reward that is targeted to your BONDED horse to give a champion eath look and makes it nontransferable. Chest and hind quarters decortive cloth coverings that when on an armored horse is dye targeted for color.

I think a normal color cu would be fine... it doesnt need to be blaze but i agree it should be a non ethereal hue.

Sorry... I didn't realize the Ethy Cu was a 10yr Reward already... my bad! But my views are unchanged about Blaze colored as a 11yr Reward. Maybe there should be a poll in regards to the type of vet rewards that could be suggested? I myself am only 8ish years so IDK. Point being a Blaze Cu would be a giant slap in the face of tamers who have done the Cu Grind hoping for that what 1 in 20kish spawning of a Blaze one? And not just the tamers get slapped here... the people who have purchased one via auction etc for extreme gold amounts are really getting the shaft if they added a 11thYear Reward of Blaze Cu's.

I like some of the other suggestions... maybe a Poll should be started with a bunch of items/ideas to vote upon!
