Last night I attended the auction at WRR (Pacific) in hopes to bid on a couple of items that I wanted to use for deco in my castle (I just placed last week after waiting for years and was pretty excited to get new items for it). Everything went fine until I bid on, and won, a “named” head. I stepped up to pay, just as I had for the potted cactus (3 mill), the blood (1 mill), the spring décor token (1.1 mill) and the lot of 22 spring cleaning shirts (575K) but just after purchasing the first 1 mill check for payment, I was bounced to the curb and “banned” from the auction house.
Not having a clue what had just happened (I actually thought, at first, I was hit with one of those weird Luna bugs, like the trades that make you crash, and thought I had been bounced out for buying the check). I tried to go in and rubber-banned off the steps – banned? I checked my journal and saw I had been. After a couple of minutes, I was able to enter and went up to pay for the head. I asked (publicly of course), why I was banned and was told by Bam Bam that I had not been banned and if I had been, I wouldn’t have been able to come in. Excuse me – can you say “ban lifted?” In the middle of typing a reiteration, I was ejected from the house a second time.
I sent /add requests to everyone involved in the auction. The only person to accept was Kyros who stated I was banned because of someone else but wouldn’t explain why or what it had to do with me. I told him I had won the head and needed to pay for it. The ban was lifted and I was able to go back in and dropped the party with Kyros. I asked politely if I “may pay for my item,” and was told they were sorry for the ban, that it was an accident. Twice?
I sat quietly until the auction ended in order to get an answer to why I was ejected from the house (twice) and obviously, after that, I did not bid on further items.
At auction end, I asked, again, why I was banned and was told that I had not been banned. Several members of WRR took this “you weren’t banned” stand, which was completely false, perhaps trying to save face for those who were still present.
After a few moments, xblade interjected and told me to “quit bickering” that it was an “accident” and to “get over it.” I stated that it was not an accident and that Kyros’ response in party was far from an “accident,” in addition, accidents don’t happen twice. Xblade became even ruder. Telling him that the conversation was between Bam Bam and I, only lead to him telling me to STFU, he didn’t want to hear it and other statements of the same (enough that even Bam Bam told him to stop). I asked if this is how all patrons are treated at their auction. Bam Bam stated it wasn’t, and I made comment that neither I, nor my money would return – 5 million spent to be kicked to the curb twice, for no reason at all? Unbelievably, I was ejected from the house and banned for a third time.
Needless to say, I sent a “physical harassment” page, listing all members of WRR who were within the vicinity allowed within the harassment page – players I have mentioned here were not selectable within the list (they were outside the vicinity of the generated list).
For the record, my character, Ava Straden, is from Atlantic, transferring to Pacific only three weeks ago, something you can attest to if you’re able to track such things. I have attended WRR’s auction on Pacific only twice and those who know me, or have seen me there, can vouch for the fact that I sit quietly at the auction and don’t cause disruptions (something you can also check as I have no marks on my account). I am so unfamiliar with their auction that last week when I won the first door prize, I didn’t have a clue what you were suppose to do and had to be told to “go get it.” I also didn’t know about the “dropped” checks until it was explained.
There was absolutely no reason for this type of conduct in game. Quite frankly, with all the support WRR gets through Stratics as well as the FoF, this wasn’t the type of thing I ever expected to see from their staff.
I have transferred all of my belongings to another player and canceled both mine and my husband’s accounts (We have 4). I don’t spend my real life time with spoiled children who throw unwarranted tantrums at any given moment, I’m certainly not going to do it in my “escape, off-time.”
It makes little difference to me if there are any repercussions for the events that transpired last night. The attitudes of the players have gotten progressively worse through the years and while I have found it tolerable enough to continue with the average gamer, I draw the line at turning over our hard-earned dollars to a company that promotes a false sense of “community,” through individuals who are actually abusing their fellow gamers.
