Well this weeks FoF was a little better than last week where you find me rant about stupid questions (and others ranting about it as well). But one of this weeks Q&A's still was something that should not be valid. I'll make it short and sweet, here's the offending question:
Log onto ANY test shard I have EVER logged into and that question is answered as soon as your journal loads up! Each time you log in they spit all them commands out in your journal, not to mention if you ever needed that question answered I always see at least a few people on test when I get on and they could have answered that question. WTF please stop playing games like this!! Waste of a question, especially when there are a ton of other questions that DON'T answer themselves AND have what most people consider "critical" situations such as broken things, bugs and exploits, housing issues, customer support issues, etc etc etc... you know, things that actually DO effect game play?
Now I DO give KUDOS to them for making it 4/5 but that 1 question cited above... makes me wonder who decides on what gets answered and what they were thinking (or rather what they were smokin'). Overall good job though guys. It IS an improvement!

But not for a new player or someone that's never done TC. It's a valid question. Sometimes when you login you're journal fills up so fast with names and others setting skills, it gets lost in the journal.
OOh and I'm basing this off of 2 people that I recently brought into uo, both gamers, but UO is so different than many, the journal isn't so obvious. I sent them to TC to get their legs when I wasn't on the help them.
The text telling you what to do pops up on a frigging scroll when you enter a TC shard. You can't get much more obvious. Best I can say is all it means are the "new players" you were inviting are idiots like we don't need.

I can understand this but still... this is a question that can be answered once you do log in even if you miss the text fly by in your journal. It's a MMORPG and other RL players are also on test that can simply be asked and I bet 80-90% the time would be answered in 3 seconds by the player you ask.
FoF is supposed to be where serious gameplay questions are asked as well as event things etc. Things that effect gameplay that have NO answer available by other means, or at least no answer that can be found so easily.
So the 50% HLD cap only applies to each roll - you could have 2 30% rolls on the same attack?
Does the Stygian Abyss story arc lead up to the launch of SA or does it continue through the launch? (yes, I'm trying to tease out a rough timeline)
There don't seem to have been as many changes/evolutions to the current invasions as it was hinted there might be. Are we a publish away from the finale? 2? more? ( notices the word "soon" stuck into the answer
)
Will there a publish planned for next week or are the EM events taking the place of a seasonal publish?
Did everyone make it through the week ok?

It doesn't show up in your journal. It shows up on a new, different scroll that shows up usually on the top left of your screen and is damned hard to miss when it does.
It USED to show up as system text more easily viewable in your journal, yes.... but they changed that because people kept missing it. Missing it now means they probably aren't smart enough to play UO anyway, i'm sorry to say.

Its good to know there is more time for the Magincia quests, I've had a busy winter and not been able to get my characters through this yet.
You people are never satisfied, they answer questions you want to know, but you still manage to pick out the one you find to be "not important" & complain about it! Damn.
I see the FoF as more of a heartbeat, a weekly "yes, there are still people here behind the curtain!" I think one question a week aimed at new players or people who just have a mental block about something isn't outrageous.

One "bug report of the week"
One "here's something we're working on"
One hot-topic in the community question
One "state of the fiction"
Oh, they are satisfied.
Most people only post here to complain about the "dumb" questions though, lol. In this case, it's only one question asked by a newbie player.
Edit: And no, FoF are NOT just for veteran players with serious questions ElvishArcher, FoF is for EVERY player, new and old.
Joanne and Chrissay, I'm just curious. What's the average number of FoF questions you get through the feedback form each week and how do you pick the ones you're going to answer? What kind of questions do you want to get? If we don't see you answer the ones we've submitted, should we just submit them again, over and over, until you actually answer them? Are you clearing up a backlog or something....??

Hmmm.....I submitted several questions, mostly about gaining skills and stats. Didn't see anything remotely resembling my questions included in this week's FoF. Does that mean I should send them in again or just sit and wait and hope maybe someday they'll get around to answering them?
Well, that was my first thought too ... but since there are 6 questions I just read those last two as the A and B parts of question 5 ... I'm not a stickler for what or how much is said, just as long as there is something there to satisfy the Friday ping

geez, at least they are telling us something, alot better than it was for awhile
