Please fix the ability to use animal form with a greater dragon. Also please fix the flagging system to where if you tell your pet to all kill on someone, it will flag you aggressor and not allow you to hide. If you have a dragon you should not be able to get into any animal form especially one that allows you to get into a mounted speed form. People are being able to get into llama form or ostard with a greater dragon. They tell it to all kill and flag someone then are able to instantly hide and stealth off screen. They shouldnt be able to hide instantly and they should not be able to get into a animal form. I thought that was why they made the dragons so powerful was because the tamer had to always be on foot.

animal form is not a ridable mount.
so the tamer invis's or hides... so what ? kill there pet , eventually they will come out of hiding, if anything to do something else.
if you think thats bad.. i am fairly close to running the same mounted or not. might i suggest a better cable connection ? say 10 - 15 mbit ( it's worth it).

hiding is a skill, your saying someoen that uses skill points for hiding should not be able to use them.. i suppose it is because you just can't handle there template that 'works' for them?

again.. they should just do away with PvP then the problem is solved 100%.

Some of you more selfish people fail to realize that pvp is and always has been the driving force of UO. But not to get too far off topic, you ever tried to single handedly take down a greater dragon with a necro or wrestle mage? I also believe that you should not be able to use the mounted speeds animal forms, nor should you be able to use the hiding skill as you are the agressor (maybe smoke bomb or cast invis) As long as they are on foot, im fine with invising myself and hunting down that little stealthing wuss. If you are running the same speed on foot as mounted people something is wrong, might i suggest when you go to play uo, only turn on uoa, uoam, and maybe vent. Thank you.

To sum up, you are saying since your wrestle/necro cant solo a greater dragon and a hiding tamer they must be overpowered?

All templates are going to have weaknesses. Find it and exploit it. I have had no problem taking down mage/tamers with a fencer and a reptile slayer. Maybe you should branch out a little?

Sure UO is all about PVP. I log on daily and head to fel and see tons of people everywhere. I see post after post from the devs trying to figure out way to get more people from Fel to the other facets.

Then why are PvP'rs in the minority as compared to PvM'rs?

Why were things added to Fel as carrots to get people to go there?

Why is Fel empty?

Sorry, but you couldn't be more incorrect if you tried. PvM'rs make up the majority of the UO population. PvP may dictate combat systems, but it's far from being the "driving force of UO".

If you want to play a game that tells you exactly what skills you can and cannot use with other skills then go play WoW. UO is supposed to be a game where you can mix and match your skills as you see fit. If a tamer wants to invest 100 skill points to be able to move at the same speed you can move with 0 skill points invested, then great. People need to stop complaining every time somebody else plays a template that they are too lazy to make them selves. Your template will NEVER be able to kill all other templates... that's the point of balance. Stealth Tamers have invested a lot of skill points to be able to do what they do. This means they have a lot of weaknesses. Learn how to play your own template better, and if that doesn't work then TRY A NEW ONE!

And no, I do not run a stealth tamer, and yes, I have killed many of them.

For one I have a great connection.. LOL I work for the cable company and have a fiber to node connection with a 100 meg bin file on my modem. I run 70 meg down 50 meg up all day :) The node is 75 feet away from my house and since I do the plant extension engineering then why not place a node at my driveway! Not to get off topic but the dragon taking up all your slots making you on foot was meant for that reason. I dont care if you go to animal form but they shouldn't let you go to a form that lets you run at mounted speed. Sure turn into a cat or rabbit all you want. But when some bolas you from mount attacks with a pet then instantly hides and cast llama form and stealth away and has the possibility to run at mounted speed is not the way the system intended I would think. If you need to use that template then your pretty sad in pvp. Thats not even considered pvp cause your fighting a dragon with 1000 hp and does 65 damage per hit. That would be pvm sir!

Because 'Fel' has been ****ed since Ren and the vast majority of content has been designed with Tram in mind.

Why? Because some people didn't like UO and were determined to change it, despite the the hundreds of thousands of people who enjoyed it. Rather than playing something else, something that suited their gamestyle, they pushed for UO to be changed into something that not only did not suit the game, it caused (and continues to cause) major problems, and endless debate... EA paniked (wouldnt be the only time, UO2, UXO anyone?) in the face of competion (EQ). The rest, as they say, is history.

Garriot left, Britannia was left kingless. The playerbase was forever split in two, community interaction was left as a shadow of its former self. Tram was introduced, a dull, boring copy of the world that already existed (Ilsh was vast improvement in this department however). Players were now able to play the game in 'easy mode,' without real fear of loss, this also made it easier for scripters to ply their trade as player justice was removed from the new lands.

Before Ren subscribers were on a constant, steady increase. It was only after the introduction of Tram (to be fair it was fair while after and probably more closly tied to AoS) that subscribers would fall for the first time.

I think what he means is that UO is known for its PvP, rather than anything else. The level of skill required to PvP well (especially on a mage) is far greater than any other MMO that I am aware of.

The success of Ultima Online opened the door for the creation of many new massively multiplayer games. Ultima Online is a fantasy role-playing game set in the Ultima universe. It is online-only and played by thousands of simultaneous users (who pay a monthly fee) on various game servers, also known as shards. It is known for its extensive timing-based player versus player combat system. To maintain order in the online community, there are Game Masters who resolve player disputes, police the shard for terms of service violations, and correct glitches in the game.

Do you realize how many skillpoints the tamer has used to do what you describe? Hiding, Stealth, Ninjitsu, Taming, Animal lore (and more than likely Vet, if he has any desire to keep his dragon alive). That's basically his whole template, and you still need to fit in Magery. If you do, forget any defense. Wrestling? Nope. Resist? Nope.

I think 3 entire skills is a hefty price to pay in order to hide and walk around at mount speed.

Well, Wikipedia's not always accurate......I have, in storage somewhere, some old nintendo Ultima games and guess what????

There is a trammel. This goes back to the late 80's....So, Trammel was not some idea conjured up out of the blue, it always existed, just not in the online version.

Player versus players need to know something about games and life....when you can't beat something, adapt and apply fresh tactics. Wars were won like this.....either that, or become some bottom feeder and cheat.

Ok maybe i've got the wrong end of the stick here but I thought one of his major gripes was about the tamers being able to say all kill.. target .. and then hide (within the 7 or so tiles required to be apart when flagged). I don;t think he has a problem with them hiding in general, just when they are right next to you, target thier pets on you then hide as the flagging does not work properly.

I certainly had this happen to me yesterday , a tamer set his pet on me, then hid (no item use i.e jewel/smokebomb) whilst 2 tiles away from me. others issues aside this should be fixed, if you flag on someone whether it be by pet, blade or spell you should be subject to the same rules. Just my two cents

Do you realize how many skillpoints the tamer has used to do what you describe? Hiding, Stealth, Ninjitsu, Taming, Animal lore
110 Taming
110 Lore
100 Hiding
80 Stealth
100 Ninja

500 skill points required to what he described.

Still leaves 220 skill points for a weapon skill, magery, whatever.

...and?

Yes, you are right, Wiki is not always accurate, however it is in this case. It should be something that every UO player (PvPer or PvMer) should be proud of.

As opposed to just giving up on getting better and running away from danger. You never get better this way.
