I have returned after a long absence to find my Keep in utter disarray. Chests of reagents, armor, weapons and all of it in piles. I left right after the ticket system that gave Virtue Tiles etc. The keep is a wreck. How would you go about organizing items? A friend recommended KR and the grid bag for ease of separation. Any thoughts?

if you don't use it and it won't sell for more than 3mill throw it out.

The KR pack grid view is great for sorting. But if you download the BBE User Interface that the modders have made, the property intensities are color coded, and you can see at a glance what is "good" and what is "junk" without having to read each property. It will cut your sorting time in half! People ask me how I sort corpses so fast, and this is how.

By the way, the BBE User Interface is a modders skin and is perfectly legal, and has many nice little features added. Instructions on how to download and even improve the performance of KR can be found in the KR forum.

Greetings,

What ever shard you are on I am sure you can find players that can use the stuff you do not want. I personly Melt stuff down that I do not want, unless I see that it has some nice atributes and then I just drop it at the bank.

If you want to get rid of Stuff on GL, I will gladly take what you do not want and find homes for it.

Peace be with You Rocklin

Make a giant wall of chests and begin sorting.

I had big plans to do that and clean up my castle, but I only got so far as to craft 100 boxes, some tools to write on the boxes and sort maybe 500 items.

Well, at least in some parts of my castle, I can now see what colour the floor is.

Edit: Oh yes, don´t use KR. Stacks of 5 chests in 2d become stacks of 4 chests with no way to see the 5th. (Another reason why I´m not using the shoddy client)

Edit2: Stuff you don´t want, you can always drop off at Heaven. New players will appreciate them (well, if they stay)

Don't do that!!! Take em to HAVEN instead, not sure anyone in Heaven would have much use for LRC or armors or stuff...:D:lick::)

Whoopsy.

Well, the NPCs :D in Heaven would love an Axe of the Heavens. Who doesn´t like to smite things? :D

As for Haven, there are always around 2 new players hanging around. Amazingly enough, there has been an influx of them over the last two months on Origin. Not hard to get a house here I guess, though as a new player, you are probably wondering where the massive multiplayer part of UO is..

Organize weapons and armor by types, or characters. I don't have many weapons so that's easy for me, but the armor is a bit of a pain. I do bags of things like "high resist armor" and "LRC armor", if you have lots of LRC armor you might want to make a couple bags worth of meddable 8 piece 100% suits for any new characters you might want to train (or lend to a friend.)

I would make one bag for stackable items and secure it somewhere convenient, as you come across something that stacks just drop it on the chest and sort later. Scrolls and bottles would go with regs, bandies would go with arrows and bolts, leather and ingots and wood, etc.

Make chests for your rare/nice items, and chests for house deco stuff where you can keep placement tools and interior decorators as well. You can put quite a bit into these chests, so you might want to seperate by types of furniture, deeded items that are also furniture, deeded items that go on the walls could go in with paintings and tapestries.

Basically when I sort stuff I put bags all around me (not chests, it's easier to move over a bag). I open them all up and then drag stuff to the appropriate bag.

BTW some items now stack that didn't used to. Tribal berries, savage kin paint, newly dug up granite and sand (must be dug post the stacking patch), I'm sure there are lots of items I'm forgetting. So that's can be a really nice space saver.

Very nice ideas here. I may have to try some myself. I just wish they would finish all the stackable things, there were so many promised that have not been delivered.

Here's a novel Idea. Pack up everything you want to keep. Put each of your toons with a full bank and pack on top of a Giant Beetle loaded down. Have your last toon with 5 packies loaded, your Bank Box and your pack. Scatter Runes though first with a time and date on them...."HOUSE CLEANING YOU GRAB IT YOU GOT IT" Doing this you should be able to stow close to 3000 items.
Once your all set....get people there stand on the steps and say "I wish to resize my house"

Let the Chaos begin!
