Well, I hope the owner of the items got their value =)

Shouldn't this be on the Atlantic forum?

This whole saga raises a big 10 on the Who Cares scale. It's an old story hashed and re-hashed. Shouldn't you bring this up in Spiels and Rants?

While it is sad to see the shard loose this piece of it's history, I think it is well documented that the towers and museum items belonged to the person who had possession of them. They were his to sell if he wanted to...

Most people do not know the true story. The current owner of the wintermoore house and an accomplis had probably 20 houses handed to him in confidence to take care of. To promote the community of the player run towns. Once it was handed over the current owner started demolishing all the wintermoore houses and placing keeps and castles for real life profit. This was done against the original deal. He only kept the museum for his own profit/ammusment. To proof this the "museum" was kept private.

Do you know if these locations were handed to said individual by someone at the company (EA) or by another individual? There was initially a lot of confusion regarding how the "new" owner became the "caretaker" of the locations.

You are exactly right, Taz. However, the new owner assured us that the towers would be kept for posterity and that they would be open to the public. He never made good on his word, but only sought to profit for his acquisition.

It's just sad, really.

Did you read the threads you linked to at all?

This post in particular?

Haven't you seen the news? The world is in a economic downturn. Luxuries such as a Rares Museum have to be sacrificed to keep reagents in the backpack and cakes on the table.

One of the strongest guilds in UO just recently had to layoff 25% of its members. That is how bad things are right now. We all have to pull together to keep the golden boat afloat.

LOL

I can't believe this is coming around again. Wintermoor, Evermoor, Rivendell, etc etc were all lost when Trammel opened. Some died a longer death than the others, but in the end the dual shard killed the player run towns. That and the end of the Seers to do spontaneous events for them. Kilandra stated EA did *not* gift houses to anyone. So unless someone has evidence that the original owner accounts were hacked to gain them, who gives a rat's @#$???

Yeah, it's a shame that they are lost to us...But in the end, they were the owner's to do with as he pleased. I don't know JC, (as far as I am aware) but if Xanthar gave them to him, where's the beef? It's his, get over it.

@Amanita, don't mean to sound totally rude, but you really need to play more UO and mind other peoples business less. Grind your axe with JC elsewhere, quit stiring the pot and igniting the highly flammable UHall for no purpose other than to watch a fire. Probably there hasn't been 10 people go by there to look at them in the last month anyway. Jealousy that someone has something you don't, well it's just wrong. In any world, Biblically, morally, whatever, live and let live.

*goes to find old screenies of Evermoor and Wintermoor*

Haven't you heard of urban development? You sound like someone who stands in the way of progress. All those cottages and small bricks were sacrificed for Keeps and Castles that were sold to help people burdened with lots of money.

It really helped some folks out. But here you are trying to turn a rainy day into a more rainy one.

One of them is open to the public and has been for a long time now. I find your misinformation misleading.

Would you like me to point out a certain thread where you admit to taking part in the stealing of accounts? You have no room to slander anyone in this game...ever.

How many times now have you opened this thread? In addition, how long are you going to continue to slander the decent people left on Atlantic. For goodness sakes man, you looted 4 accounts dry without permission...left shard...and then changed your char names to avoid being accused of your shenanigans.

Thats just sad, really!
