Skill messed up

[Fogey]

I have a character that has 34 less "modified" skill than actual skill. This is wearing nothing that would modify skill. If a skill mod is added the "Modified" skill will raise. How can the wierd modification be corrected?

is this skill resist spells by any chance ?

Is there any chance your character is in factions and died recently to an enemy faction member and is in the 20 minute temporary skill loss period?

Do you have protection on? Casting protection will drop your resist spells skill.

i think that's what it is i just tested it and the protection spell dropped my resist by 34
