Thoughts on your EMs so far?

I wanted to say publicly how much we have enjoyed our EMs on Lake Superior. EMs Quantum and Autolycus (we affectionately call them Q&A) have made themselves available for chats and are working hard to get to know our shard.
They are still tied down to Britain but never once complain and we have even brought some of our events to them instead.

I went on a tour of shards the other night to visit other Counselor Guild Halls and though one or two were still barren, the rest were decorated beautifully with books of welcome and a wedding planner ready. I ran into EM Laurana when I popped into Origin and she was so nice to take time out for a visitor.

Classy, very classy. What a great thing to do and shows each shard has that personal quality to get to know *grins*

I'm sorry you feel this way RavenWinterHawk. I personally feel it matters now to set things up for a year + down the road. We can do a lot as players to help them get them familiar with the highlights of our shards.

You are kidding, right? EM Malachi especially has been on a LOT lately. I mean... for literal hours at a time.

Your best best is to try them around 7p-11p EST weekdays (not sure bout their weekend availability)... remember, they more than likely live in the USA... so by your time that is LATE at night. I believe a five hours difference.

Also, check the lanterns outside of the Counselor's Guild. They are tagged at times with when they will be around.

I really hope that EM's will get to run there own events otherwise I probably won't even show up, if its going to be the same on every shard with slight variation... whats the point in that.

I think they still are on their leashes a bit, so to speak. It is my understanding they will have EAMythic plots to do and then contribute their own as well.

It just started! Give it some time.

Personally, I've only seen the EMs in action in character (As Casca and Sherry respectively), and have been impressed with how they are doing thus far.

One of the biggest things that seems to be an even better start than Seers is that they seem MUCH more open to people (instead of focusing on small "favored" groups). Seeing Casca sit and talk to people WELL AFTER the scheduled event on LS was a great thing as was seeing Sherry take time to discuss reactions to the speech.

But to be fair, the couple of naysayers are correct to a point. We're still in the infant stages of the EMs and they have a lot they will have to do to keep the system enjoyable for all involved.

While there is a lot to go, so far I've been impressed with what I have seen thus far.

Let's see... combine the EMs being involved as characters as needed with a complete NPC revamp to bring back the "life schedules" of older Ultima prime titles and I think we have a winning combination in terms of the non-player populace of UO.

Again, they have just started. They really haven't gotten the go ahead to let loose...

One more thing. These are real people with real jobs and lives just like us in ADDITION to being an EM, so please be understanding if you can't catch them 24/7.

I have a sash I looted it off some spawner, I was like omg! the sash! Then it turned out to be an EM one and the dissapointment was about on par with the weekly FoF.

They all started roughly the same time but it's pretty much as their personal schedules allow as well as timezones for each shard. You should find a sign in book in the counselor hall, most shards I have visited have that or a bulletin board so pop in and heck maybe even ask in there a good time to meet them. If we are as encouraging as they are eager to please only good things will come from it *grins*

Ah, found it!... Theres two Counselor's Guilds in Birt, one has nothing in it, that was the one I'd been to.

The book says Sherry The Mouse is at Blackthorn's castle/billboard inaccessible. It's editable by players though.

I noticed this too on my tour, Wrathi. Did Lord Casca appear on Napa? I wonder if a "floater" didn't take over for that event while your shard EM might be unavailable for a bit. I would send in a feedback form even though Mesanna would know about it. It's discouraging to see what others shards are getting that you are not, kinda like the banks on Asian shards *grins*

I remember we were unsure if we were even getting the EM program back and yet here they are giving me reason to feel optimistic. I would rather be optimistic and look towards helping things ahead than be pessimistic and give no reason to look ahead at all. *grins*

Aside for the Casca speech, I haven't seen the Pacific EM's but it's probably because I don't know when and where to look just yet. Pacific EMs, come introduce yourself and give us a little heads up as to where to find you!

On Napa Valley;
I have stopped by many times and have yet to our EM. I do see a large room full of nothing. At one time they had a few things locked down, now it's empty. Either they are busy planning something grand, or they dont care. Either way, not much going on with Napa at this time.

I have seen EM Sezja on Napa twice now. I know the one time it was around 6PM. Maybe when the hall is decorated we will see them more. I am sure it's all in due time.

That is great to hear Napa's EM is active and meeting people! Perhaps EM Sezja is down on the list some for a turn at decorating their hall. Hope to see some pictures as soon as it's ready.

Shes not is active, I have been there at least 50 times, at all hours and no one is ever there. I sat there one night talking with friends for over 2 hours (from 630 to almost 9).
All I wanted to do was say Hello.

I do hope that she gets something going on napa, I enjoyed the last events. Maybe it is like you say, and sooner or later the hall will get done.

im not too happy that EMs gave out sashes for only a few days before new years and i didn't find out until a few days before new years, then the EM showed up a few days before new years and said he doesnt have any more sashes to give, then people asked them again after new years and he said he has the sashes but is not allowed to give them out any longer. So now those sashes are rare simply because people were on at the right time... i thought things like this were not supposed to benefit a certain few players just because they were at the right place at the right time this time around... it was my understanding that the new EM program was to give an equal opportunity to all players

I was going to make a sarcastic comment, but honestly i just feel sad that you seem to view EMs as artifact dispensers. They are much more valuable than any stupid named sash they hand out.

i play napa , atlantic and sonoma.
the em's on atlantic seem to be the most active out of these 3, i have seen alotta invulnerable people recently, and wonder if that would be the em's in dsiguise?
if so then atlantic and napa ive seen them recently,
on sonoma i rarely see anythin...

Thats because the only ones responding are the ones that log in from server up to server down. Some of us have jobs in real life, and will probably never see the new EMs.

I have met and spent some time with both EM Kasaven and our floater EM Annendora. Both are very friendly and willing to get to know the Catskills shard and the people on it. They spend a great amount of time just chatting to people that visit them and have started to role play a bit too. EM Kasaven likes to play chess too so if you play chess and want a good game, stop in and see him. (Just one warning though.. ask yourself why there is a switch built in the floor beside the chess table.)

Baja had an event last night, it was basically an RP event, a meeting between the EM and Casca. I was very pleasantly surprised by how polite all the attending players were, and there was a nice discussion between the EM's RP character and the players about what course of action the EM should take.

BTW EMs usually stick to a pretty regular schedule. If you miss an event on your home shard and really would like to attend the next one(s), make sure to note the day and time of the event that you missed and try to catch the next one at the same day/time.
