Would this be a good temp for PVM?

IMO, SW is a waste of skill points for PvM. An ABC archer can outdamage one hands down, and isn't as mana intensive.

Connor and I disagree vehemently on this point. I think the benefits of weaving - WOD, gift of life, nature's furry, etc - far outweigh the benefits of bringing Bush from 90 - 120.

I have a archery/weaver that is set-up pretty close to what you have, and I would rather play the tamer/weaver or mage/weaver over that char. Like Conner stated, weaving is a mana hog, so your looking at putting LMC and MR items on suit as well as hitting with a HML weapon, then you have to juggle your stats to try and get dex/stamina high so that your swinging and healing fast, but still have enough points in str and int so that your not a one hit kill and have enough mana to still cast. The other problem is that you really need a high level spellweaving focus, if you can only get a level 2 then your pretty much just throwing 115 points down the drain if your only going to use WOD because by the time your able to cast for the big numbers the monster is pretty near redline, and depending on the amount of mana you have, you might be able to get another WOD off for the kill shot on high HP monsters. I usually don't cast gift of life, since you have to rez at the spot you died and there is a time on how long you can wait before you take the rez. In most cases, the monster that killed you is still sitting right next to your body. Most of my melee chars are knight of sacrifice so 3 times a week they can run to a safe spot and self rez. IMO, if your able to get a level 5-6 focus without any problems, and use the char to do peerless, doom, or other things such as the events where the thing your fighting has 5-10k+ hit points, then go ahead and make the char. But if your, just planning on fighting normal things (dragons, demons, succubi, ect.) and maybe the once in a while trip to doom or peerless, then I wouldn't put SW at 115. Do the quest, and if your human just lock the skill at 0 (elf char can go ahead and take it to 20), that will allow you to still cast natures furies, attunment, and gift of renewal, although you will fail sometimes, but you can get a focus from anyone standing on the circle as long as they are within the 20 skill point window (they don't need SW to help you get a focus, although they might ask how they got a focus crystal). The points then could be used to bump up the other stats to as high as you can afford in Tact, Bushido, and Anat.

Include rune beetle carapace, orny, and some other mana regen/lmc, and you'll be fine.

With JoAT the only useful SW spell you would ever need past what you can cast with JoAT is WoD...

You can cast nature's fury/gift of renewel/Attunement just fine with 0 skill (20 being human) They don't last as long, or are nearly as effective. But nonetheless, they work.

You'd be better off w/something other than SW on a PvM archer. In PvP it's good because you can use your pixies.

And the area spells with SW take a long time to cast, and aren't that effective really. By the time it took you to cast them, you could have already killed more spawn.

Best to leave SW to the mages/helper template, unless it's for PvP.

Standing side by side with a SW Archer bud against 2 Berserker Daemons (we each had 1), both of us with Mystic bows, my Daemon was down in 22 seconds, while his was still at 2/3's life left.

I'm a nice guy so I helped him finish it off. :D

My archer built up quite a reputation between Magincia and Moonglow of being able to demolish anything that got in his path.

I will disagree with almost every derogetory comment made in this post about SW....

It is without a doubt the best skill in the game (for peerless style PvM)

First thing you got wrong...yes Gift of life does res you by your bod, BUT at half health, and if you try to open your corpse before you die, last object wen you res your at half health fully equiped!!If you cant fight at 1/2 health jeez!!!

There are many decent spells past 20 Joat (pixies/imps great lil buggers if your tanking!!!reaper form right at the end to max your sdi, wildfire...jus for kicks.Etheral voyage, same as invoking honour!)

All of these spells with high weaving are effective without a focus...however, a level 6 focus is just OMG!!!its about 15mins on the gift of life 19 (i think) HP every 2secs with gift of renewal ove 90points of absorbed damage over about 5mins.

It rocks!!!

But, having said that, it is extreemly mana draining...most of high level spells require around 50mana.

Sorry i wasnt really paying attention to the skill template, went of topic and just wanted to let you know that SW is actually a really good skill with some really good spells, but depends what you want to do with it as to whether it would be viable for a archer.

Rich was watching Momma's Boys... =)

I agree that SW has some awesome capabilities...Level 6 focus it all rocks... but how often can you find that many people in the same skill range for a level 6 focus?

Imps/pixies are useful... But I see them more useful in a PvP setting as they die really fast, 1-2 hits.

If you were a secondary tank, then yea, they'd be fine because they wouldnt be taking direct damage, at first...

On an archer it'd just be hard to get off any useful spells in time to actually help. While casting one of those spells, a bushido/archer could get off 2-3 good hits, doing more damage/use than would one of those spells. And WoD seems like it takes until next week to cast.
