I am starting a few of these threads because too many people are posting a single idea thread and it turning in to a complete flame war. This thread is for your one thing you could do with UO if the Dev team granted it so. Feel free to be as short or as long as you want with your post but please do not attack anyone else's idea. Perhaps putting all the ideas in one thread without having to filter through all the negative posts will make it easier for the Dev team to see what ideas people have.

I'll go first

Give Us A Classic Shard - At this point I don't really care what era it falls in so long as it is Pre-publish 16. I would prefer it to be the rule set right before the birth of Trammel. But like I said, at this point it could be a UO:R server and I'd eat it up.

(No I am not trying to make another classic shard thread, now you post whatever you want)

I use a wraith samurai which works better now. I just want to be able to use vamp embrace for the simple fact that it's a pain in the ass to do anything as a group with wraith. Everyone else still uses the now a joke vamp samurai.

A more detailed/developed quest system. Specifically, more chain quests, varying degrees of difficulty, and for goodness sake decent rewards for doing the quests other than three cruddy pieces that I would'nt even bother dropping on the ground in New Haven.

Another very good question, you're on a roll today. Someone asked a similar question last week, I responded without a lot of though, I'll try a little harder here based on what it appears you're trying to get to.

I am sure my one "wish" would relate to our characters, how we build them, how capable/ limited each is, and how they interact with the environment. Within the framework as the game currently exists (our "sandbox" today), I'd go for a stat/ skill cap increase to 250/ 750, with an individual skill cap to 150 for all skills. No downward rescaling of requirements or effects as we've seen before. No powerscroll requirements for skills, though I'd leave stat scrolls in that drop on both facets (reduced rate in Tram). No vet benefits.

If completely unbridled in my one wish, it would remain along the same theme, how we build/ employ/ equip/ interact with our characters. I've never been much of a roleplayer, and don't particularly enjoy swapping out characters based on circumstance/ scenario. If there were such thing as an "essence" suit, jewelry, or whatever, I'd love to be able to hold the "essence" of other characters on an account on a played character. I'd even propose so far as a "spiritual essence" for skills and a "physical essence" for items. I can elaborate if anyone wishes, but you get the picture. I don't see something like this any time soon or for that matter even the environment as things currently exist, but you asked the question ......

OK, here's one on a whim:

I think it would be fun to see a nethack-like minigame: a randomly-created many-level dungeon where you enter with no possessions whatsoever and have no access to a bank, so you have to live off what you find in the dungeon. Monster speed is scaled to the speed the character moves at (if you walk, they walk, if you run, they run, etc). If your character dies (or starves), you get kicked out with nothing.

If your OS is not working on a Windows-based PC, the cause is likely an error code 14.

That's an error that occurs about 14 inches in front of the monitor.

Macs suck. Get a real computer and you can play UO all you want!

To see the volunteer program reactivated now that we got em's back in the game why cant those of us who want to help bring new players in the game and help them get the ropes and stuff be able to..plus those blue robes just look so damn cool. I want the dev's to grant me a Deco tool that allows me to redesign and deco anything I see on my own shard......

So I can redesign the Banks, The towns, the land...... adding whatever I like.... though I'd limit it so i can't like "bless" other peoples homes...... or change them.... but I could add things to towns...... and anywhere out in the open... or in a dungeon...... so I can "fix" all those missing corners, missing tiles in Doom....... and other things.... I'd just wander around the lands "fixing" things.... adding and decorating..... would be fun..... even if I had to use my own plants and supplies to do it..... I would....

A UO:R style server with only the felucia ruleset 5 chars, no x-fer on off, can include all the latest lands (arties would be just named items, weaps would = power-vanq, armor = fort-inv). AR system, Resist would resist all magic spells, no powerscrolls (champs OK but only gold and lootable items). 2-3x skill gain speeds, no bush, ninjitsu, necro, spellweaving, chiv, Order/chaos guilds, no insurance, Only faction/clothing blesses,.

Pretty much UO what it would be now w/o tram or aos item/combat changes.

As promised to us about 8 years ago: 100% of items in the game craftable. Everything, everywhere, all pixel crack, all deco. If Magincia taught us anything, it should be that we CAN have everything if we really want it (and feel like being bastards and destroying the city to get pretties.)

Those that are server rares should be just as rare to craft, but still doable.

There is so much deco that we can't use. It's like having a warehouse candy store, filled to the brim with exotic candies -- but when you try to open the glass canisters to take some they are locked. Made of plexiglass. And guards come and beat you on the head for touching them.

Damned guards.

Speaking of them, guards should be killable. I HATE invulnerable guards and NPCs. I think that is one of the worst things they did to the game, aside from the ruining of the npc 'flavor talking'.

I loved holding long conversations with npcs, now they are just lumps. Why not just make them stand there and hand us whatever we ask for? Cut out the middleman.

My opinions re Macs:
My first computer was an Apple II. Not a compatible, not IIc, IIe, IIgs. Just Apple II. It was a simple, sleek and rugged piece of technology unlike those chunky PCs. If it hanged, I just banged on it a couple of times really hard and it'll run fine upon reboot. I loved it and could never imagine myself using PCs.

But they've gone and promoted Macs as some cool elitist computer that gives better graphics performance and have so many proprietory restrictions that you can't properly upgrade the damn thing yourself. To add insult to injury, it's overpriced, the graphics really isn't any better, performance is overhyped, alot less vendors write software designed for Macs, and graphic tablets are now readily available for PCs.

Ok, enough Mac bashing...next, iPod bashing

Erm, I donated most of it back, honest! They should have enough small rubble pieces/plants/DUST to hopefully make a really small tow...no...hous...no...garde...no...well, a small pile of rubble, from the stuff I donated back.

How about a system that lets you craft magical rings and bracelets that have random attributes, and add luck suits to crafters for the purposes of their crafting, and crafting quests. Basically the higher your luck the better your chance or higher end stuff.

Rings and bracelets for example up to 5 attributes like you can see now.

Ohhhhhh, and for talisman slayers to work for people's pet damage.... Might as well as for the sky.

Of course my #1 wish would be to eliminate all the cheating that infests this game.

But since that will never happen....

A more realistic wish would be for jewelry boxes, armor wardrobes and weapon containers. You know basically some sort of system which allows us to easily find the items we are looking for without having to dig through 20 different chests in our houses.

They turned this into an item based game, the least they could do is make it easy for us to find and sort though all the damn items they've created.

I wish for a fix on the pet fix.
Pets that actually listen.

Since the "fix" they put in to make pets follow when you tell it to follow even though something's attacking it... They dont listen at all.
My pets somehow magically teleport through walls or floors.
I.E.. at Ice if something on the other side of the wall attacks it, my pet disappears and reappears on the other side. And at blackthorns in Illshnear, they teleport through the floors if something attacks them.

Occasionally I hit a streak of where I tell a pet to attack, and it gets stuck where it is. To fix this I either have to remount, or if its not a mountable pet, recall away and come back.
I have to spam all follow me in dungeons, and if im lucky after about 10 times it might listen.

I'm 120 in all taming skills so thats not the issue.


Oh while I'm posting, I'd like containers that you can sort your jewelry in to make it easier to go through.
