And I can tell you for a fact that thousands stayed because of the PvP. If the PvP was so bad and so rampant and held so many players back, then explain all of the houses, vendor shops, large guilds, and 7x GM players there were? Hmmm? How do you explain all of that? How do you explain the 100,000+ players that were on UO back in t2a and before trammel?
Maybe--just maybe there was no competition? EQ came out about the same time or a little after T2A.

The only people who had issue with the PvP were the people who couldnt handle it, that simple. Instead of just leaving UO and going to play EQ or something else, they came on the forums and she-dogged over and over until the devs caved in and made trammel.
Maybe just maybe they like the skill sets in UO, housing, crafting vs leveling.

If you want nonsense, read your own post. There is no way an entire guild can get camped like that. Its sad when people have to resort to lies to keep up their weak arguments.
So now instead of someone else being correct you call them a liar and say thier post in nonsense.

If a guild had a keep, they could have just banned the theives and killers from it. Problem solved. Same applied for the people who owned shops. "I Ban Thee", three simple words that solved a lot of problems. Thats what I did when a red was waiting to ambush me in my shop. I ban thee and the person was ejected from the house.
That only works if they are in the building--if they are camping outside and killing people as they recall in---as I stated in my post--if you bothered to read--your point is worthless.

But your little story about the guild having their keep camped by the reds, thats just plain, flat out bull if I have ever heard it. If that was the case, it would have attracted the attention of every anti-red guild on the server and a war would have erupted and the reds would have been driven off. People helped other people back then, and an event like that would have drawn the attention of every player on the server.
Again if you bothered to read you would have seen where I said people helped them for weeks--but it eventually got old and people stopped helping because they didn't keep it up.

The solution to all of this is simple. The devs can put in seperate retro servers and you dont have to play them. You can stay on your post-AOS servers and leave those of us who want the real UO back alone.
have at it big guy--but please dont post the nonsense you posted and not expect to be called out on it.

But then again anyone who disagrees with you can't be correct, according to you.

So which is it, a specific template, or 3 templates?

Or is it just any template you don't run?

This is my point. Not every template is effective. And certainly not every template is as effective against other templates as others. This is called variety. And having variety allows players to choose different play styles instead of standing toe to toe and trading blows to see whose weapon is superior.

I can understand that there has to be balancing passes. There always has been. But at the same time, nerfing a template because a vocal minority of players don't know how to play against that template is ridiculous.
I havnt PvPed for more than 10 mins at a time let alone just log in for longer on EA since Aug. But in that short time its not hard to put together whats up. On Pacific(largest west server) There were only 2 pvp tamers (real pvp tamers) Archeryyz and melilkin(sp?) then greater dragons came and dread mares now theres a S@#^ ton more . so Tell me why the sudden turn twards tame in PvP? Overpowered? You must think were all stupid.

PvP should not be about beating the template but about out skilling the player...

That hasn't been the case since AOS and the introduction of "items". Skill was FAR more important then than now, which leads to my next point....

I've said it a million times....GDrags turned a bunch of **** poor tamers into thinking they were skilled. How many tamers do you see dragging Gdrags around these days? Why? I don't agree with nerfing tamers, but I do agree with nerfing GDrags in PvP. I have a GDrag for each tamer, but they are rarely used, and never used in PvP on those very rare occassions when I use a tamer. Even in Tram I prefer a Bug/mare, Bug/bake, or Dread/bake combo or a Cu. For me, those greaters had no need to be added to the game.
