I was on TC1 today to test a couple runic saws that I have... BTW, Thank YOU for the 5000 boards in the bank box!

I didn't have time to test out any of the balancing changes today, and I hope to be back on TC! later this week if work allows. But I started wondering how many people actually were testing the balancing changes. Usually after any announced change, the Haven bank is packed. But today I saw no one else for over an hour. I see a lot of complaints posted, so where is everyone? What have you tested? Can you post any ACTUAL numbers?

The company I work for pays me a rather large salary to test any upcoming software changes within our systems.

Why would I pay some company a monthly fee and do their Q&A for them?

1. No one knows the game better than the players.
2. Does your company charge charge more than $15 dollars a month for those services?

I would quit my job and move to where ever Mythic wanted me to play test all day if I was paid a decently. Many others would too. The $ has to come from somewhere...

Yeah, I know the math. UO turns a profit. Let's hope it stays that way.

Let me just further add, congrats to anyone who volunteers their free time to test upcoming changes on a game they pay to play.

Not my thing though... Especially after spending years watching crappy ideas released to the test shards, feedback is given and problems reported, but yet the crappy ideas are still pushed live.

No duh.... who wouldn't jump at a chance to sit and play video games all day if it paid good.

Where do I sign up??

I understand what you are saying here, but you are already complaining about the proposed changes in other threads without even having tested them, and as far as I've found without anyone actually posting results of any on TC1. EA/Mythic is giving us a chance to have input and I really haven't seen any so far.

I was hoping someone had actual numbers to share.

It's because a lot of us know from the past that unless something is SEVERELY flawed out bugged, it's going in anyway. They didn't spend all that time coding to have a few voices on stratics shoot it down.

You're right. Let's NOT test the changes they are proposing. Let's not give them feedback. Let's not find bugs and help them identify them and get them fixed BEFORE it goes live.
If you don't like a change, then don't test it and give your own feedback as to why it is bad.
Let's just let them put in these changes without any testing by the player-base at all and then get mad and yell at them for all the bugs, etc because it wasn't tested to begin with.

/sarcasm

You test it because it is a game you want to enjoy playing and something YOU pay for. You want to test it so you can help get rid of as many bugs as possible before it goes live. I could go on, but you should get the idea.

Yeah, they can test it. But they might not find EVERY bug. The more testers the better.

yeah really. I'd rather find the bugs when they are Live then post on the forum and make them look bad.

Test Center sucks. it's basically a place for people to figure out how to dupe. they should just get rid of it.

I don't think that is the point at all... there may be some form of the proposed changes going in, but every developer leaves in a way to make adjustments. The input we have will be about those adjustments... how many potions it takes to reach immunity, etc.

I remember several times in the past where we players affected to published results. Heck, I was on TC a long time ago when alchemy was being changed. The developer (Firedog, if any here remember him) made deadly potions for me to try on a volunteer to see how fast they died. It was rather fun and the publish had to be changed because of those tests.
