With the new balances on test center about pots and special moves here is another balance---- fix trap boxes and remove paralize from being effected by evil omen. If players had to start having resisting spells on their templates again we wouldnt have all the "Gimp" templates. Just a thought :)

I dont understand how this would be possible, trap boxes however much of a pain are game mechanics, it would be like saying that if a person hits you, you remain paralysed.

Tbh you could just end up with a good team where someone wouls tag the person under paralyse for minimul damage to release them, if people want they will find a way without resist.

Next you will want peeps not to be able to invis someone else unless that person has magery! Get over this Trap box bs kick, it is a game mechanic as it has been for yrs now. Even us NON PvP people use them when para'd against monsters.

I vote fix EO/Para and leave trapped boxes as they are.

Warriors shouldn't be forced to carry resist to PvP.

Uhhh please explain this one to me... Game mechanics? You are paralyzed... How exactly did you reach into your backpack and click open your trapped box???

If anything it is a flaw in the game mechanics exploited by players with templates that do not have resist spells, and then hushed up by the same players who excuse the practise with some feeble whining about evil omen :eek: or some other reason they should be allowed to "move" while paralyzed...

Change the paralize spell so that it has the same effect as the dexer special, then do away with trapped boxes.

Well consiracy theories aside, I have never evil omen'd anything player or critter... And I do not use trapped box's either. But from my time PvPing I have never had any issues with evil omen or paralyze on my temps with or without resist spells.

Persoally I just have an issue with players saying they should be able to free themselves from a paralyze with some lame game mechanics... Just because... they dont like it... waaa

Evil Omen+Paralyze can negate all 120.0 Resist of a player. EO is castable with as little as 20.0 Necro, and Paralyze with 50.0 Magery. Paralyze/Nerve Strike from a Wep cannot be spammed, well it can, but it won't work for the Para. Paralyze spell can be spammed and doesn't have any diminishing returns. They should've made EO resistable, and make Paralyze spell have Diminishing Returns, so that **** can't be spammed.

Sounds fine to me, resisting spells should do just that... Whatever the spell.

From my experience the tactic rarely worked tho... as we would usually go about killing the other players trying to prarlyze our team mate, worked sometimes when you might get caught alone, but it's fel, it's pvp your going to die sometimes...

Hardly an argument for allowing paralyzed players from "moving" and using trapped box's imho. Call for changes to resisting spells but trapped box's? That's just lame...

well personally I think its complete BS that a mage's spells can do more then 35 damage but a dexer is basically limited at 35 damage... i mean i know you can do like 45 or so with Maxed out DI but seriously how many PvPers can fit all that DI into their suit.... not too many... and the fact that a necro/mage can cast Curse + Corpse Skin + Evil Omen and then explo Flamestrike you for roughly 45-55 damage is just plain ridiculous!!!!!

Bring back trapped pouches then. You could still get paralyzed even with GM+ magic resist. And you had to retrap your pouches each time you used them.

Do away with trapped boxes and I want my Nerve Strike to paralyze people EACH time like EO/Paralyze can. And I don't want my Hit Spell on the bokuto to 'free' them either like a trapped box would... because they're supposed to be paralyzed right?

That way I can spam Nerve Strike on them until they're dead, just like a lame mage can spam Paralyze while his gomer buddies all gank.

And how long exactly do you think it's going to take someone to cast all 5 of those spells??

In that amount of time a dexxer could hit for well over 100 points.

A plain mage is one of the weakest PvP templates currently.

Evil omen takes literally no time to cast... corpse skin is fairly fast... now add that to a necro/mage template using a -mage weapon + really high DCI. Odds are you wont do that much damage in the time elapsed to make it 'balanced' even with HLD you're still going to miss due to factions ability to stack a crapload of DCI.

Unless the dexer gets a lucky RNG then ya... they can output that damage. But more often than not, it doesn't happen that way. Unless they use bleed/poison to interrupt the caster.

No matter what they do... there needs to be some kind of paralysis release... even when magic reflect/magic resist worked, there was Trapped Pouches. Using Magic Trap spell, and the small pouches. But they had a one time use, no damage took place. And mages used stamina for paralyze/stun instead of mana. That was a dumb move =/

Even if you get in 1 hit you're going to interupt the previously mentioned combo.

Are you really going to sit there and tell me that currently a mage owns a dexxer in damage output?

if your a real pvper corpse skin shouldnt hurt you anyway cause you would have at least enough fire and poison on your suit to not drop below 60 (what curse puts your cap at). And dexxers can hit for 50 damage easily. They can play offense and defense at the same time. Their swings do not get interupted. Dexxers are stupidly overpowered. If you do not belive me TRY TO PVP ON A MAGE. Oh and Evil omen only cuts your resist in half so 120 turns into 60.

I've PvP'd on a mage... I've PvP'd on a dexer. I'm saying that a mage can still put out a LOT Of damage with the right gear. Trying to hit someone with 65DCI + Mage weapon can be a pain in the arse. Even with capped HCI/HLD and high weapon/tac skills.

I'm saying that there should be some sort of way to counter paralysis. Like there was pre-trapped boxes. Even with 120 resist someone could still chain paralyze you. Especially if there is a gank of paralyze going on.

There is..... It's called the Resist Spells skill.

At 120 Resist Spells you are practically immune to Para, unless the lame ass EO/Para combo is used. Which, along with trapped boxes, should be removed from the game.

In my opinion, magic resist should work against evalint. If a target does not have magic resist, the mages spells should do more damage.

Colter...we all know how many people EO/para gank... so unless magic reflect is changed, and you can precast magic arrow, and cast it on yourself when you get para'd to release yourself, like it once was...there needs to be an alternative otherwise I forsee a lot more EO/para ganks =/

I don't see what the big deal is with trapped boxes...You do usually take 5-10 damage per click of the box. IE free damage for the attacker.

If you're PvPing then wtf do you want to para someone anyway? It's so cowardly. Fighting someone who can't even fight back, that's not a fight...
