What is the best shard for....

I have read numerous posts about ppl being able to solo champ spawns. I am curious what shard this is happening on. I recently transferred over to Lake Austin thinking it was an unpopulated shard, only to find out the same thing happens there... I clear all the spawn and right before the champ spawns some group will run in to kill me and finish off the spawn.

Please dont get me wrong..I am not complaining. I understand that is the nature of the game. I just want to know what shard people are able to solo the champs that I keep reading so much about.

Oceania, we can always use more people to kill, and you will get away with plenty of spawns :p

Perhaps it is players of the raiding guilds that ususally does them solo since they don´t have to worry about getting raided that much...

Come to Oceania! We're tiny, we're lazy, and we always need more PvPers.

i think those people who 'claim' to be soloing a champ spawn are doing it in tram or ilsh. the red guilds use ghost cams so completing one in fel aint gonna happen unless you get lucky with a off-time spawn or have about 20 or 30 guys in your pocket to help out. i have personally done a few non-fel spawns from start to finish with 1 other person; funny too that neither of us got a single scroll or drop any of the times we did it so far either (bout 4 or 5 times so far). but to do it alone is next to impossible considering how quickly you have to kill the spawn to reach the next lvl. it would take hours to solo one anyway, and thats just not fun to me so i havent tried it.

i suspect a powerful area attack such as the necro wither might get ya to that height of kill production, but i havent bothered with it since its really pretty uncool to go around withering everyone else's spawn. some have been doing that at the spawns lately and it proves just how inconsiderate ppl can be in trammel.

getting a spawn to yourself can be done but not during prime time hours.

lol.

It takes like, 20 minutes to solo a rat spawn.

Soloing a champ spawn without interference on a low pop shard isn't that hard at all.

But you have to spend some time preparing the field. In other words, plan carefully, don't use the more common areas (like Despise, Destard, Fire, Oaks) or easily accessed areas. Kill the stealth cams and exorcise the ghost cams in multiple spawn areas (otherwise they'll know that you are in a particular area). Many people run a second computer with their own "ghost cam", which in this case is a character just standing within sight of the most commonly used entrance to see raiders before they're troublesome.

After that is done, then pick your spawning area carefully and hope that a random spawn pops that you can handle alone.

If you've done all that, then the only reason you'll be raided is if the ghost cam runners go back to set up their cam at the wrong time or someone happens upon you the old fashioned way (it's been known to happen).

With the right weapons and tactics, any spawn can be soloed in an hour or less (to be honest, I haven't had luck with the demon spawn... but I think that's a personal superstition). The undead and rat spawns take significantly less time.

Its all about speed and timing.

I've solo'd Rat spawns in Fel Europa on Numerous occasions so anyone who says it can't be done is incorrect.

I haven't had much luck soloing undead on my high SDI necro mage unfortuantely. I seem to get stuck on level 2, just not killing the spawn fast enough.

What template is best for this?

Truth be told, I have a friend on another shard who begs me to finish my characters there so I could spawn with him because soloing Baracoon in Despise alone is boring (which he spends hours on end doing). So I know it can be done. I just wouldn't want to take the risk, so I've convinced myself that it can't be done without being raided.

As for the undead, try an archer (stealth/bushido/chivalry/necro or any other sort of archer, the only important skills are archery, tactics and something to heal with) armed with a conjurer's trinket and a fast undead slayer bow with mana leech. When things die long before they get into wither range, then you've got a good thing going. And Neira can easily be defeated with attacking her and either cutting up the bones or using momentum strike if something does spawn. The only thing you have to watch out for is blood oath.

With double-slayer archer: level 1, everything dies in one hit. level 2 bone mage in one hit, mummies in 2-3 hits (EoO and CW applied). level 3 liches in 1-2 hits and skeletal knights in 3-4 hits (EoO whatever you're attacking). level 4 lich lords in 3-5 hits, rotting corpses a little bit longer (8-12 if my math doesn't deceive me). It's absurdly fast and almost as easy as a necro-mage in Baracoon.

Try Siege Perilous the shard is dead and there are plenty of empty spots to spawn.

Only problem is with RoT it wouldt ake you 4-5 months to build a character to solo a spawn with.

I think any shard has it's given zergy or dominant guild that attempts to raid any spawn out there. Generally speaking, the smaller the shard, the less likely you're going to be found. I would just make characters on a bunch of shards and see what the PvP scene is like. You'll get a general idea by just visiting Yew gate and Despise.
