Another request to un nerf Bags Of Sending

When Bags Of Sending first came to UO they where great now hardly anyone uses them anymore since they have been nerfed. Bags Of Sending where a great selling item before they where nerfed now hardly anyone will buy even one.

• Granted there are gold farmers in the game that abused Bags Of Sending but by nerfing them it also hurt the honest players too which is almost every player in the game why let a few bad apples ruin things for the majority of honest players.

• Bags Of Sending nerfed or not nerfed is not going to stop gold farmers they will still farm gold many of them will just farm replicas now and make more gold then they ever could by farming gold with or without bags of sending nerfed or un nerfed there has to be a better way to deal with them then nerfing Bags Of Sending

• As for me i am a player who does not pvp ,cheat,dupe, camp,farm,script or buy gold online nor am i a member of any guild or faction at this time by choice so for me it can be a struggle to make some decent gold for myself i don't even have any good vendors right now.

I don't know about you but what can it hurt to bring Bags of sending back to there original state i think it would be great especially for the little guy like me. ill make this a poll please feel free to vote or post a reply thanks.

I didn't vote as what I'd like to see with the BoS's isn;t up there. I'd like to see the BoS's back but only for resources. It's not that hard to farm gold imo, but resources such as leather, bones etc can fill you up pretty quickly and does become tiresome and difficult. Even with a pack, if something goes wrong, dead pack and lost resources.

From what I understand the reason for the nerf of Bags of Sending was due to an exploit that somehow enabled 60k to be sent at a time to the bank. I believe divine fury was also part of it. Hence, the change to make charge per weight.

I understand the need to fix the exploit but what they made was a knee jerk reaction and nerfed the Bags of Sending. I would have rather they adjusted or nerfed divine fury. Or, better yet, ban the exploiters.

The quest for powder of translocation is one of the best ones in the game. I rarely bother now though since I don't use the powder much at all. The Bags of Sending would still be viable if they would up the weight per charge a bit. Perhaps 15k gold for 5 charges instead of 5k gold for 10 charges as it is now.

It's not that hard to farm gold imo, but resources such as leather, bones etc can fill you up pretty quickly and does become tiresome and difficult. Even with a pack, if something goes wrong, dead pack and lost resources.

One thing that I would love to see in the game is for caravans and ships to matter for transporting large quantities of resources. I don't know if it will ever be possible within the world that has grown up. BoS always felt like a step in the wrong direction for that atmosphere.

The reasoning at the time the change was introduced was to stop as much gold from being put into the economy as had become common.

Shortly after the change was introduced, they changed it some: Now it was about scripted gold farming. Jeremy told us that a few major gold farming sites shut down after the change.

I don't support this change, myself, but I've given up on arguing with them about it....Saving my energies for things I feel are more necessary and/or have a chance on.

There are so many other ways to make more money faster, and so many more cheats that deserve more attention. If anything the nerf is hurting all the newb players getting paid to farm leather.

I don't know. Champ spawns/harrower spawns at the end drop off a lot of gold. More than anyone can get in their bag. Not to mention most people tend to leave it be. You could get soooo much in just like 1 min. Can't believe you hadn't even though of this.

My preferred option is to make it to where each use goes back to 1 charge, but the bag charges your bank 50 GP per stone sent. Since some shards already have horned & barbed leather prices over 150 GP per, this would not have too much effect on leather gathering, but make gold-sending a zero-sum proposition (50 GP weighs 1 stone). Heck, even having it charge the VDP for non-gold sent through the bag would work.

Work the spawn? Oh heck no, I just came in afterwards and looked whenever I could. Since the guilds do it like 2x in a row at least, that's a lot of gold, and over time it just kept building up
I made a ton. I miss looting all of that, but the change was for the better.

Sure more professions can bring in more gold, but that's only because people are giving them that gold for their goods. And where does the gold come from?

That's where all the gold that everyone has comes from. Monsters, and that gold drop from champ spawns now.

So I'm ok for nerfing the BoS back to where it use to be, but as long as it can't be used for gold. Or at least make it really expensive to use it for gold. Aka, the way it works now.

My vote was for yes, un-nerf them.

The only people this affects are the ones without gold, wanting to get some.

Gold farmers are so far down the line now that the bags make no difference to them atall. they deal in 10's of millions not 10's of thousands.

My friends and I recently restarted the game and quested for these to help us get going, only to find the bags to be pretty much useless. It was quite the disappointment.

If they did get brought back to the way they were i would like it to be made so is unable to send replicas through the bags, they can be insured but a quick thief can get his hands on them

In essence i think that any replica or arty (of any ranking) should not be allowed to be sent, i think the main argument is for resource farming and as such i have no problem with this, i can however see it being used to farm silver (not that this actually matters)

I voted no, my reasoning is players would go back to gold farming again carry BOS, now if they fixed it that NO gold would be sent using the BOS then I would be all for it again because before they hit the BOS with the nerf stick I would use them to send my resources to the bank, leather, bones etc..

I voted no because I've learned that living without them isn't as difficult as I thought it would be and I think this change does deter a few folks from camping certain spots in the game for hours on end, giving others a shot at the same spot.

I'm undecided on whether or not the BoS nerf actually helped the economy. It still seems pretty messed up. I think it also put a pretty good damper on hunting in Ilshenar, something that could perhaps be fixed to an extent by adding a couple more fixed-location gypsy camps.

I also think that this nerf was one straw too many for some folks and gave them yet another reason to quit playing. I wish those people would consider returning to give things another try. Maybe go human on the characters that you hunt with the most in order to help them carry more and use up some of your stashed Heritage tokens to acquire a couple more Rose of Trinsic plants. And stop trying to carry so much stuff in your backpack! (Advice I need to heed myself more often than not. LOLOL)

I didn't vote either. I agree with Oriana. I'd like to see the BoS's partially un-nerfed. They would be able to send an entire stack of resources with 1 charge, but they would continue to use charges based on weight for gold.

However... although I would like to see them go back... I think that it should be for resources and have a set charge for gold (i.e. - 10% of what is being sent + 1 charge)...

This way if it is used for gold, there is an extra charge for it...

AGAIN THE FEW PEOPLE DOING BAD THINGS ARE KILLLING THE GAME FOR EVERYONE.....Oaks in illish, yes they give a lot of gold sure....but dont complain about the honest players here UO put the spawns there UO made the gold spawn when it kills the way it does and NERFING the bags makes it ridiculas becuase now we go to spawns that UO MADE, EARN gold that UO MADE, and if we truck it back and forth becuase you cant recall back to the illish spawn then YOU LOSE WHAT YOU RIGHTFULLY EARNED to some bystander or passerby who happens to see the gold because you cant grab it.

Not to give anyone ideas here but if you were prone to bott farming gold, would you be more likey to use BoS on a multi account mega economy nuking bott farm or would you burn a trial account letting your [young] player recall directly to you bott(s) and relieve them of their gold every time the filled up?

Sorry im using u as an example but what the &$*% is everyone thinkin....RESOURCES ARE FARMED JSUT AS MUCH AS GOLD ILLEGALLY....BUT again these few morons that do this shouldnt be hurting the honest players...so no not exceptions for gold......i can spend 8 hours in blood dungeon killing blood eles and now i cant loot one frikin one becuase its not worth it to send anymore....my income is gone....im forced to start selling off my rares and collectibles just to survive COMPLETE B.S.

I voted NO on this. I too think that the economy is finally starting to heal. And that doesn't mean i dont' use the bags. I do. I use them for when i get an awesome drop and want to send it to the bank pronto. I think thats more important. If i need to farm gold, i just keep a packy on the side to hold the gold. Not sending gold through the bag has made me alter my char and i think she's better now.

If its a concern for farming resources, how about having the bag work like the commodity box. it only works with commodity deeds. oh and it should be blessed .

That's a choice. I hunt in Blood Dungeon on a regular basis and loot every bit of gold I get. That's even with hunting the Succubus in the back of the dungeon.

Thats another reason Ils is prety much barren as in other places at least you can loot 10-15k gold and recall to bank and repeat,ils involves a lot of running people is not willing to invest for that paltry amount of gold in todays screwed economy.

In case you don´t know there´s usually a gypsy bank 30 secs run north from that dungeon. It´s pass the Inn by the water.

Go and make sure it´s there and if it is start killing blood ellies and just run to that bank when you´re full and then go back again...

If they can stop scripting, I'll vote yes.

Until then, BOS are waaaaay too abuseable and should not be changed from their current state.

Definelty bring them back. It used to be fun going on long hunts especially in ishnear. Or at least make ishnear recallable. Seriously who doesnt here doesnt have millions-hundreads of millions of gold anyway. The main thing BOS was used where for unrecallable areas and resources. If someone wants to gold farm they can easily still do it why you think everyone can afford 20mil rings and millions worth of items everyday.

The only nerf I know of is the one which keeps Bags of Sending from being stealable.
