spellweaving scrolls

An alliance mate of mine was looking for certain ones, so I decided I'd go hunt for awhile to try to get them.
In 3 hours, I received not a single scroll, since then I've hunted a few more hours without a single scroll.

I'm aware they spawn on ML added monsters. I use to get a ton of them off Swoops and Troglodytes, Not a single one recently.
Were the drops severely scaled back ?
My main question is is this a bug, or on purpose.

I've tried Swoops, Trogs, Bedlam, Miasma.

I got 7 yesterday in 2 hours of hunting. You probably just ran into a bad streak with the RNG.

The mini-boss creatures have a much, much higher chance of dropping them. It's more effectively to farm Lurg than his minions (although "farming" Lurg seems a little wrong somehow, I find he's a nice yardstick of the agility/power/durability of a character)

It would be nice if a spellweaver/scribe combo could craft spellweaving scrolls.

I agree, but at the same time, the scrolls are one of the nice little "yeah, I got something!" rewards in the ML dungeons, so it should be harder to get ingredients for than magery scrolls - perhaps inks as a rare reward for New Haven quests? (except there aren't any scribe-oriented quests in Heartwood ... hmm)

Out of curiosity, can you obtain spellweaving scrolls from any creature in ML dungeons or only creatures that were introduced with ML? For instance, if I were to go hunt at Sanctuary, could I obtain spellweaving scrolls off of the ratmen, cyclopses, and titans?

I don't know - other than the trog cave, I don't venture into the ML areas very often - they are rather claustraphobic for me.

It has to be a specifically named creature in the ML dungeons, Jennifyr, Red Death, Lurg, Rend, Szavetra, Putrifier, etc.

And yes, I got several yesterday as well. Just some temporay bad luck for you i suppose.

I know I used to get spellweaving scrolls of Troglodytes. Did they change it to only named creatures?

Its all new monsters in ML dungeon that gives scrolls.

I do a nice little side business selling complete sets of the SW scrolls. Regular drops of minotaurs and miasma keep me stocked.

I am against allowing players to make these or selling them on NPC's, not because I can make a profit from them, but because once you have them in a spell book, there really is no further use for them. If somehow they were consumable (e.g., spellbooks getting tattered and worn) then yeah, it would make sense.

Couldn't the same be said of necromancy scrolls? (and you can get a full book of those in New Haven). Personally, I like the idea of having GM-crafted spellbooks of all types.

I think obtaining spellweaving scrolls is quite easy. Over 6 months of playing, I collected at least 10 of each scroll type, without specifically hunting for them.
