Returning to Catskills

Hey everyone,

I am returning to Ultima Online for the first time after about a 4-5 year absence. My home shard has always been Catskills, and after logging on a few times, I am having a little trouble adjusting to all of the changes and what not, but more importantly I am looking for a guild or even just a group of people to hang out with in game. I never was an avid solo player, mostly did things in groups. I have 5 characters, 4 of whom are at least 3x GM or more with other skills hovering around 90. If there are any guilds recruiting or pretty much anyone that would want to help out a returning (semi)vet, I would greatly appreciate it. Hey, welcome back. There are lots of guilds that I'm sure would welcome you in. Just go hang outside of New Haven bank, just follow the road from the moongate to the North.

Hey there, Touchstone! Welcome back and what Bob said.. New Haven is a great meeting place. Bank and stables are just across from each other which makes it a popular location. Lots of people go there to meet and start their events.
I think you'll find its practically a whole new game from 5 years ago. I left for a couple years around 2004 and came back again and found alot had changed in that time so I can imagine how much would be different after a 5 year hiatus. All in all, the Catskills spirit is still there and most people are welcoming and helpful.

Welcome back! Haven is the best place to meet people if you need a hand. Luna is pretty much just full of bank sitters. I'd wager that at any given time about 50% or more are AFK in luna.

I returned last year after 4 years off. It's a lot to re-learn, but keep at it. You'll find it comes much easier learning to play the 2nd time around.

I was lucky enough to get to tag along during the zoo spawn the other day with Bob. I'm not going to lie, with my 4 year old weapon and armor I was more fodder for the undead spawn, but it was awesome to be doing it again. I have gotten a few "updated" items for my better characters, and am still working on getting back into the game. The one thing I am still looking for though is a guild that is somewhat populated just to chat and hang out with. I have been to New Haven a few times and it actually wasn't very crowded. I'll keep asking around though. Thanks again for all the welcomes guys and gals.

Snag a member of GRI, SnR, SCB or some of the other guilds I'm forgetting (sorry guys, you're just as important though) who are a member of the One Circle Alliance. Or PM AnneNomilly (my fellow Catskills mod), Her guild is also a member of the Alliance. (Anne, Please don't beat me up for not knowing your guild name. I'm sorry.)

Actually, our guild, O*S, Order of the Shield isn't part of the Alliance. We've just been good friends with people like Ally, Robert, Barefoot, etc etc etc for so long I can see why you'd think that.

I'd agree with Black Sun, the guilds he mentioned are usually quite active. And, though I shudder to mention this, outside Luna Stables you can also sometimes find guildmates/groups hanging out, chatting, sparring, etc.

And by the way, I'd like to also say, WELCOME BACK. If you need help with anything as far as getting your characters up to speed, definitely look for me or any other member of O*S. Just tell them Anne said so! *grins*
