A Tale of UO Skill Gain

I had 115.0 Musicianship but I was training Disco and needed 100.0 Musicianship for optimum gains! So I SoulStoned my 115.0 Musicianship and started Musicianship at 0.0. At 8:00 pm tonight I purchase 32.4 Musicianship at a cost of 324 gps. I then created an attended Musicianship macro. At exactly 11:36 pm the same night, I GMed Musicianship (actually 100.1). So in 3 hrs and 36 mins I gained 67.7 Musicianship points. This is how all skills should gain!

While these Musicianship gains where occurring I used a 2nd account and a second computer/monitor to train a Discoed Cu (GM in all skills except Resist = 97.5). During the time that my char gained 67.7 Musicianship, my Cu gained a grand total of 1.0 Resist. That is a ratio of 67.7 to 1.0. Seems a bit extreme.

Somehow seems slightly unbalanced...

It seems fair to me. Musicianship is not a primary skill, but a necessary complement to the other barding skills, so it is fair that it is easy to gain.

Resist is the easiest skill on a pet to gain. While your training it on a shadow ele set a macro to cast weaken feeble clumsy. Takes no time at all and it will be gm. If like you said your pet is already worked up make a pen in your house and cast on it.

As for music someone already stated is a skill thats useless w/o others so its easy to gain. Like meditation and focus.

There's nothing wrong with being able to gain musicianship fast. You need either disco/provo/taming to coop with it to make it any use, and those skills are a lot slower to gain.

Powerhour!!!

Nuff said!
**** i miss that. First hour you've logged in that day, or every midnight (Basically the same thing). Log on and run up and down the stairs of a small marble with a Energy Field under the steps for Resist gains, or tame White Wolves on Ice Isle with my Tamer.

I miss gming in a day 3 complimentary skills after day 1 then gming 2 more then struggling for the last 2 for like a week. This was all accomplishable through normal gameplay in dungeons. I miss this.

I have never played a bard. So when you said you were training "Disco" I had a really bad feeling come over me. Then I realised you were talking about discordance.

You don't even have to make a pen, just tell your pet to stay and then cast on it.
