I remember it was the "birth" of the Miasma that drove me to gm lockpick. I'm one of "those weird" guys that doesn't like to use scripts, UO-assist, or UO-auto map, none of them. So...it did take a while to GM it. But I feel your pain. If you somehow didn't meat up with someone, let me know and I'll gladly pop that chest for ya.

Please let us know when you have had your chest opened. I too would gladly help you. Vallend was very kind long ago to give me a few runes to help me in my quest to GM lockpicking without scripts and such. All the more rewarding to do it 'the old fashioned way'. After depending on the kindness of strangers for so long to help me with my chests, I enjoy returning the favor to those in need.

I can remember desperately wanting to be able to pop my own paragon chests. I know that there might be some, like me, who just wants to know everything that is in a paragon chest before it is completely looted. I got a white chest off a paragon cu sidhe doing the Twisted Glade Champion spawn. Here is a screen shot of everything inside the chest.

And the "readout" on all the stuff:

If you have a vendor you can place it onto the vendor and peek inside to see the items without unlocking the chest.
It used to work on pack beetles too but I'm not sure it still does.

I had forgotten that trick Flutter. Now I feel silly. I wonder what the silliest paragon chest anyone has ever gotten was. I don't suppose there are paragon wandering healers? That would be neat. Maybe a finch or crow paragon chest.

I killed a paragon pixie once. Sadly no chest.
I've always wanted to be able to open my own chests too, only problem is I never seem to get one when I kill a paragon.

I dunno why, but I've gotten more paragon chests from the miasma than any other creature in the entire game. Dunno if that helps.

Paragon healers do spawn and they're fun to kill, but I don't think they carry treasure maps so no chests from them. Would be fun though... "A paragon chest recovered from Fred the wandering healer" lol

Couldn't you get chests off greater mongbat paragons? I seem to remember you could but I don't know if that is still true today.

Paragon healers do spawn and they're fun to kill, but I don't think they carry treasure maps so no chests from them. Would be fun though... "A paragon chest recovered from Fred the wandering healer" lol

If paragon chests work the same as Black Rock Boxes then you can get them of anything (i have a nice collection of cold blood blackrocks from snake to GD and mongbats, vanguard)

Have only blackrocked one NPC no box and now it seems theyve turned it of

They are relatively easy to force spawn...go to healers Grove in ilsh just past the meer town and the orc camp and be prepared to lose alot of karma (or just jkill the red ones.

It goes by tmaps, I promise. It's how they got lvl 6 tmaps into the game.
The tmap in the chest is always one level higher than it would have been on the creature "normally".
They added level 1 tmaps to mongbats just to make them drop chests, then with a certain recent localization changed that to the "greater mongbat" they are today.
