Where did the Quest Forum go?

I'm having a problem with a specific character being able to undertake the deamon bone quest from Victoria. I can't find the Quest forum so I'm posting this on UHall...

Another character was able to "Ask About Cyloth" from Victoria... but my problem character does not get that and she can't hand Victoria bones so I don't think that she's undertaken the quest before.

How do I fix this?

Also a couple other things... while looking for the Quest forum I couldn't help but notice we have two thief forums? Everything else is getting lumped together and one of the least used character skills gets two forums? I guess one of the Stratics Admins plays a theif?

And finally...

If you have one of those "Cursed Parchment" scrolls from the Haloween Khaldun quest and want to get rid of it... go to doom and Victoria will buy it from you and you can get it out of your backpack. You get 5gp!!! Woot.

I'm all for a quest forum. I always thought they lumped everything together to get things running quickly. But ya it was wierd to see all the crafts lumped together and things like begging get their own forum.

Well, actually, it's more of the beggars not wanting to associate with anyone else, and it's a bit more of a role-play forum than the other profession forums.

Thieves have two forums because PvP Thieves are traditionally EXTREMELY hostile towards their non-PvP counterparts, and we had to SPLIT them into two forums (in just the last couple weeks) to stop the abuse. In fact, the old forum's Thief forum pretty much told the non-PvP Thieves they were not welcome under any circumstances, and to go to the rares forum for help IN ITS DESCRIPTOR LINE - help the rares people weren't equipped to give.

IIRC, you can't do the Victoria quest if you have the Naturalist Quest, Hag Quest, Collector Quest (Elwood), one of the Solen Quests, or any of the pre-New-Haven standard template character quests still active.

Click on yourself to bring up your context menu, look for "View Quest Log" and see which quest you have going (which could also be an old instance of Victorie's quest as well). IF you don't want to finish it, then cancel it.

If people can't act civily just delete their Stratics accounts. And if they keep getting new accounts, close the entire forum. Basically it sounds like there were a bunch of brats... and they got a cookie to quiet them down. Now when they want something else... guess how they are gonna act.

I didn't quite understand this... did you mean the old Thief's Forum Moderator?

I hope not... must be some other meaning to what you wrote there...

Thanks for the info about the quests but this character only had two quests active. Dreadhorn and Gathering Evidence (for the Citidel) and I quit them and still no luck.

Hi, as I indicated in my other reply... only two quests and Solen not one of them. Thanks for the reply though. I did try cancelling the two quests on this character and still nothing.

I had another character with 7 (yup seven) quests active and she was able to get Victoria's context menu, ask about Cyloth and is able to collect and redeem bones. Both accounts are 8th age so I don't think there is any expansion I need to get the account. In fact, the account that can't do the quest... is the newer of the accounts.

Would be nice if there was a QUEST FORUM. With all those nice QUEST FORUM FAQ'S. Cause honestly, whenever I try to use the Stratics search I just get junk... so sorry if I'm bugging you all with this.

I've paged a GM so we'll see how that works out... and no snickering or sarcastic remarks... last time I paged a GM, I had to log out before they got to me... and they fixed the problem for me while I was offline and sent me an email.

Maybe the reason the GM's respond to my pages is cause I don't talk trash about them every post I make. They might have "ghost cams" here on Stratics, ya know!

It would be great to have that one back. I used it (and pointed others to it) alot of times to figure something out when I got stuck. It was really handy to find information on "older" quests, that had phased out of popularity.

A questions for the Mods (if one reads this): Were the Quest Forum data recovered? Was it placed on some other forum if it was?

Sam, my advice on the Thieves Forums is to just stay away from them (both forums that is). Its a mess even trying to find basic knowledge on the current state of Rouge related skills. Everything points back to Publish 16, which was what...elevendy billion years ago... I'm glad I am not holding the broom to clean that mess up. I do agree with your cookie statement.

I hope that you can get your quest issue resolved. I have nothing new you can try. Did you page when facing West? That might get resuslts faster

Aye, I always page facing West... learned that trick a long time ago. In fact, I have received my GM "in-game" message and Email. They have asked me to submit it as a bug, so I forwarded their email to the uobugs address with some additional info. (Since I'm not limited to 200 characters.)

To see if it was an account issue... I tried another character on the SAME account and... bingo... got the quest from the context immediately. So... I've got two characters from two different accounts that have other quests that were able to get Victoria's cooperation and the one character that is best suited for the task is unable to get it. I'm guessing that either Victoria and Akira had a falling out... or the "Dev's" have realized that the Ninja/Archer template is too powerful vs Patchwork Skeletons and therefore have made it impossible for pesky Ninja's to collect bones.

As for recalls... if it's any consolation, Sam's armor is all geared to manna/int boost and manna regen. The resists are dreadful, so if you're trying to beat his record with a mage that actually hunts and does incription... then take consolation in the fact that when Sam sees a reaper outside Lord Raven's house he hides until someone comes and kills it for him.

Oh, and some friends took him fishing once... when he went to cast, he tossed the pole right out of the boat.

No, the actual FORUM DESCRIPTION.

For example, the forum description for the Lake Austin forum is

"Like all good parents, we exile our Problem children to Siege at age 18". (one I suggested 5 years ago, long before I was forum admin).

You know there are two areas quests can be. There is the quest log you can access from your paperdoll which can have more than one. Then there is the old one that you access the same menu you insure items from. Did you try the old one? The paperdoll one isnt the right one.

Well, I would have renamed the forum... Manners 101 and deleted every post on PvP theiving until everyone learned how to behave.

After everyone that caused trouble quit... and the rest settled down... I'd let them talk about stealing again.

I'd put the trash to the curb. But I guess admins need to sell eyeballs to the sponsors.

Thank you for being persistant! I checked the old quest menu and by-gum Akira had only gotten halfway through the ant quest. She cleared the quest... and is sending you a nice screenie for helping out. I guess the GM's lost their quest FAQ too.

Of course... Sam's version of this would be about 30 pages long... with ton's of screenies... going on about some old boyfriend of Victoria's that Akira stole... or assisinated, or both. You really dodged a bullet there.

Even though you have Akira's thanks... you have given her the keys to Doom and you will be VERY UNPOPULAR with the residents there! You might want to work the Labryinth for a while...

Well Sir, I am unfamiliar with the dialect of your region... but this "NC-17" sounds very bad indeed... Alchemy should be called this or worse and should be eliminated from these fair lands. It is a corruption of nature and spirit.

I can give no details, but a major blow has already been dealt to the Alchemists and their filthy, greedy vendors! You may soon notice diminishing supplies of potions in many cities.

Some will find it difficult at first to purge their bodies of the vile chemicals of addiction... but I stand ready to help them. The Council of Inquisition has an attitude of compassion towards all that come forward and ask for help.

Our attitude is different for those in denial... they must be given assistance as well, even if they resist our compassion.
