Hail: Well We just go back from getting everything set up for our permanent move to Battan, Philippines, and the internet connection is OK for a lot of things, but not for playing UO. So, after 11 years i have to say goodby. YES, you can have my stuff/accounts, that is 6 0f the 7. One i have to sell as my wife has a medical bill not covered by her insurance.

First, This is a great game. Yea yea yea, i complained as loud as anyone else, but that is what people that care do........

To EA, here is what i would do........Make the SA expansion as planned, but make it 2d only. In fact make ALL of UO 2d only. Then, make another SA expansion, that is a stand alone that uses the new SA client Only. This is the one that goes in the stores, and is not bogged down my having to be 2d compatible.

This gets a lot of new players into the game. Current players can buy the SA client and expansion, and get all their current charaters and stuff transfered over to the new servers.

You know, UO has these things called containers, so that you don't just lay everything on the ground like before lockdowns. They're pretty nifty, just FYI.

hehe, You can have All my stuff on siege, all 4000 gold, ah hahahaha. I spent time at the Harpy cave, but never had the time to put into that shard.

Thanks for taking the accounts off my hands. I got a few PMs asking for more info on the Castle/charaters acct. There are 7 chars, 6 of them are all gm, or gm+ in most skills. But not all. Poisiong as example. But i had it on another account, and simpley transferd a bunch of gm poision weapons to this one. Gd, Chuside, WW, Mare, Fire Beetle, and so on are the pets. Everything from Practice weapons, to 11 year vet rewars in the Castle.

We move next week, and i really do not have the time or desire to strip the account, or become a Hereo and give it all away in game. For some reason getting an Ovarie removed is covered by Ins, but not the annesia????

None of the charaters did the magincia quest yet. For the current even some charaters choose good, and some choose the shadowlords. I transfered over the glass daggers to this account, and there are 9 of them. All charaters are blue, the Reds were on the one i gave away.

Here are some tips/tricks you may not know.......
You can Mine and fish, under Bucs Den. Yes you get rubbies, pears, ect.
Fishing with a spell channeling pole, and using 2 boats next to each other and 2 pets=Fishing for the Win.
There are bunches of Tree's in areas of the game. Only chop wood there,=1000's of colored wood.
See the home and castles area of this site, and learn how to make a cool deco floor for your old style home/keep/castle, without having to use goza mats as the floor.
you can use dyes of tokuno on a normal lamp post to color it. "except white".
A GM Tinkered Golem is not as useless as you think against some spell casting creatures........
If a PK attacks you, do not run away. You will not make it anyway. So stand and fight, you are most likely going to die, so you might as well laugh at it. You will be surprised to see how the end results differ using this approach, vs :yell:, hehehe.

And Now my Rant.

No matter what the game is, console, pc, or internet, and no matter how old or new it is, the biggest single complaint is, and always has been, "THE AI SUCKS". The fix has always been exactly the same, "Beef up the AI Creature". Booooooooooooo, Hisssssssssss, and Booooooooo again. Some day, someone will figure out that letting players become the AI= Online game for the Win.

Same HP/Stats/ ect, But now instead of the AI Swoop just sitting there taking a pounding, Bob the Swoop, is actually moving around, attacking you instead of your pet, and moving a little at a time to get you closer to the changeling so it can target you also, and so on.......Weeeeeeeee

I myself cleared out my castle of the most important things - My account is running out in a few days.
Sofar I have been reactivating it for a month every 90 days - Dont think I will again.
Everyone who is staying till the bitter end - Have fun and Good Luck.
I ..might... be back if the game has undergone some serious fixing and has a modern client.

Sir Chops a Lot is gm in what skill? hehehe. That is the only gm skill there is, i havve 1 advanced charater, "Bard" on the account. All the others i have confirmed were taken. The Castle account is still available, and now on e bay also. yea yea yea, i know, it is a little bit outside the intent by selling the cd, and offering the account for free, but even here in Vegas they do it. A Casino on the strip has a little red sports car in the shop, with a painting sitting in the front seat. The sign on the car says, "Buy this painting for $35,000, and we will give you the car for free".:D

Question? Those of you in the Boonies with slow connections, how do you play? What do you do to help get around the bad ping, high packet loss, being slow in the game, and so on? Thanks.

You might want to try one of the Japanese servers. I imagine you would enjoy a much better connection.

High speed internet wouldn't be a bad idea.

Best I ever ping to my closest server is 270(ish) more average is 350, but I also haven't ever noticed any packet loss (at least ont eh screen that tells me what my latency is)

You just learn what your limits are, and don't *do* everythign that everyone else can do =) I still have a blast playing the game.

There's days, of course, I curse the hell out of our connection - but most of the time I just play =)

28k connection is better than none! =) Was only 6 or 7 years ago I had to dial long distance each time I wanted to connect, so couldnt connect all taht often - phone bills got ENORMOUS!
