New Fix?!?!?!

One of the new fixes are now allowing to steal from player owned beetles!?!?! what is wrong with this, I don't think this is right....especially in tram ruleset. I think they should revert it back, to where they cannot steal from player owned beetles and only the wild unowned ones.

I agree. We tested this with a non guild member and the person was successful in stealing from the blue beetle.
This is putting fel rule set on tram. There is a reason we all left fel. The pain in the arse thieves was one of the reasons.
Fix it!!!

yes i have tried it and repeated it at least 5 times, throught this i was not guild or friended to the person's beetle!!!!! So those out there with full beetles beware!!!!!!!

My guess? There was a bug that made "wild" beetles un-stealable, whereas many monsters now can be stolen from.

They "fixed" it.

And the result is that tamed beetles are now stealable.

OK, so I know it's not the beetles themselves that can be stolen, but I couldn't think of a better way to phrase it; sorry about that....I think you all know what I mean though.

Very depressing.....Our community person has logged off, I bet they won't even find out about this until tomorrow morning. A lot of damage can be done by then.

I think the INTENT was to allow beetles to be stolen from like other packies, but went a little too far in its implementation. Things like that can get complicated, since the pet is both mount AND packy.

Just make sure you stay on your beetle when out in public until this is fixed. Or better yet don't put anything on them that is valuable to you.

Good advice, definately don't want to put any valuables in your beetles until this is sorted out!

I would not want to take the risk of storing anything valued in mine, even while riding him. There could always be another freakish bug appear, never know.

Weird earlier today I saw a guy on Legends scripting in heartwood I was on my theif looking for slimes in fel heartwood the guy just had like 90 to 100 bags with recipes in them I saw him I mean its amazing the bots people make I was watching his pack he was making stools and just about every quest he got he took anyways weird thing was I was in fel and couldn't snoop his beetle but in tram you could so someone messed up.

Anyways I tried to steal from the guy and got guard wacked I paged but after a while I said screw it GMS dont care anyways.

I was thinking in a tram ruleset. Of course if it were bonded the owner could just recall out. So you'd have to lure it to the center of your castle.

(I tried to experiment on TC1 to see for myself if stealing was really added to the Tram ruleset, but although I got the "you reach in the pack" message on a tamed beetle, it didn't take anything or give me any sort of gump)

Ummmm, why shouldn't a beetle be able to be stolen from? My question since I am not a moster stealer is, did the steal done as a random steal, or were they actually able to target steal an item?

I have wanted to be able to open beetles packs for years now. It seems silly their their packs couldn't be opened like other packies.

In regards to this taking place in Trammel, well, let em fix that, but otherwise, leave this alone. If someone steals from you or your packie. Kill them...strange how the game mechanics allow for that...la

but that's the whole point of what needs to be clarified - this appears to be happening in Tram.

(I can't reproduce it completely, but I can't tell if that's because it isn't happening and there's just an odd message, or if KR is not showing a gump it otherwise needs to)

As far as I could tell, the whole thread up to now has been about Tram ... I had assumed stealing from beetles was always possible in Fel?

I'm sure that if there was a thread about blessed items being accidently added to Siege and I added a comment of "I like blessed items!" with a small disclaimer that I didn't care about Siege, I would get a reaction too.

(but that having been said, I should have chosen to read your post in a less distrustful light)
