new stealable items - market settle?

in general, how long does it take the market to settle on new items like this? i see shards selling these items between 65k and 1 mil...

thoughts? experiences?

Pixel crack sells well for a few months, then seems to level out. I am laughing at the idea of all the new so-called thieves in training though. I'll bet most accounts will have the skill trained up within the next month or so. Between stealing from Doom, crates and now from monsters...there is going to need to be another whole forum created for them.

Please note (in general, not to the OP)...the current Stratics Thief Forum is for PvP thief questions, you will be refered elsewhere if you come there to ask about these new moster stolen items.

So where are players that used to go to the rares hunters forum on the old Stratics supposed to go now that that particular forum no longer exists huh?

I always hated the elitist attitude of the thief forum. If you steal, you're a thief, regardless of what or who you steal from.

Sorry...but you are more than welcome to have this opinion. We at the Thief Forum, have always disagreed with this.

PvP Thieving involves...

1. A thief
2. A mark, who is another player

Player 1 steals an item from player 2 = PvP

Don't get me wrong, if a player has a question in regards to how to train up the stealing skill we will assist as much as we can, the problem comes when players come to the thief forum asking about rares, crates, Doom, and now stealing from monsters. We don't know the answers since we don't play those portions of the game. The reason they are pointed elsewhere is because those other places would be a better location for the players to get thier questions answered...la

And all of the information, including the maps and lists, are no longer found anywhere on Stratics. Fishing and T-Map hunting are not even close to stealables (and that forum doesn't have any information on non-PvP stealing), and the Rares forum is just that, rare, unique items like event items and server births, not ones that spawn daily, weekly, or monthly and are still obtainable. We were told when Stratics combined that the old information would be combined in the Thief forum, yet that didn't happen. Woops miss-read. My response includes stealables and all the monster drops.

The new items vary to much. From deco to usefullness. Prices will be between 1 million and 10 million for months. Probably 6 months.

Eventually youll see 250k to several million.

There is just to much stuff.

Not sure who told you that. When I became mod at the Thief forum, the only skill groups that were lumped together were the thief (PvP types), murderers, and assassins. I gathered all of the faqs and stickied them at the top. Not sure how you expected us to do more with what we were given.

There has never been crate or Doom discussion on the Thief forum...that hasn't changed.

I kinda agree with Connor here.

A thief is a thief is a thief.

YOu can call them a purveyor of goods, a privateer, a trader of goods from the rich to the poor, whatever, they are still a thief.

It doesn't matter if you steal from players (which is no longer worth it at the moment unless you're on Siege), if you steal from shop keepers (crates/bankboxes/whatever), steal from Doom or steal from monsters, you are still stealing. Stealing makes you a thief.

So a thief forum should be for all thieves, not just the PVP thieves which is really only valid on Siege. Since its not and it's geared for "only thieves that PVP" it is elitist. He is correct.

And side note, you forgot your signature la. I think it's a rico impersonator.

I think it's silly that you're trying to say the old thief forum (which was only for pvp thieves) wasn't elitist. Of course it was. The forum was all about bragging about who got the best pick and making fun of pretty much everyone that isn't a pvp thief (and some who are).

Interesting thread. It seems that a 'Thief' forum should cater to anything that involves the stealing skill, which incidentally leads to one having "the thief" title. Logically speaking, of course. It seems that Bragging about PvP thieving should be located in a PvP forum. Whereas, a thief forum should advocate any and all talk about the thief skill, as implemented in UO, in which ever fasion that currently may be. But, alas, forums are created and run by humans, whom are fallible. Thieves even more so, some may say! So I guess the way they are currently handled should be expected.

I think it's silly how rico thinks that seige thieves are elitist... Until seige plays with passive detect, they will always be considered the easy-mode version of a pvp thief.

You know what, Im going to have to go with Rico on this. At first glance it DOES seem exclusionary, but after a little thought I can see the validity of what he is saying, even if I would put it differently.

To me, those other questions dont belong on the thieves forum because, in essence, a person is basically asking how to stock their vendor. Sure, a few people will steal items for personal decoration, but I feel like a vast majority of stealables are just destined to end up on a vendor. So its like asking people how to obtain stock for your vendor.
There should be a forum for that information, but I do understand Rico wanting to keep a strong distinction between what amounts to active versus passive stealing.

And I say this as a person who made a thief to grab a few rares to decorate with, and found NO help on the thief forum whatsoever! So Im not saying what I say as a PvP thief, but as a person who needed the information and couldnt get it, and I can still see his point.

Just my opinion though.
