Maybe not right place but. I tried the voon stratics has put together.
This maybe the end for havein to run, icq and, vent or teamspeak, while we play. Was no skipping of voice comms while running through luna, or other high traffic areas. Not to hard to figure out the setup of ptt (push to talk), and other audio settings. Private rooms for guild play is big plus.
I give it my two thumbs up here.

ANyone know the actual band with?

Do we get private rooms with separate bandwidth. I mean wow If everyone from stratics uses it(all games?) I cant imagine the crazy bandwidth that would need!

But Wow If i didnt constantly step on my head sets Id be playing with it right now!

questions before i mess with it.

thanks in advance:

1) max number of people / rooms?
2) security (TS can be raided unless you pay for additional protection)
3) cost? free?
4) is there an overlay that works with both vista and TS? (open source is fine)
5) is there a proper admin and ability to delegate levels of access?

1. not sure yet may be as many as want to be in the same room.

2. yes rooms can be password protected and moderated by ppl the owner of room sets. Kicking and banning is method of mods there.

3. right now free!! duno about in the future might be a fee for usage.

4. not sure on that one i am sure there might be but i am not the expert just an excited user.

Vivox is our partner for Voon so bandwidth isn't an issue. Vivox's backend infrastructure powers in game voicechat for all SOE games (Everquest, etc.), EVE Online and a bunch of other games. The network can handle hundreds of thousands of simultaneous users.

1) 70 for private channels at the moment. This is a "soft" number for private channels... for special events (we're looking to do House of Commons chats) we can scale to tens of thousands of users in one room with no latency. That said - 70 is the cap for private channels. If there's a lot of interest in increasing this, that's something we might be open to.

2) The system is very secure. The network infrastructure powering Voon is the same infrastructure that supports in-game voice chat for major MMOs (spanning hundreds of thousands of simultaneous users). That said - this is an open beta test and it's possible there will be glitches.

3) Totally free!

4) Not at the moment but there is push-to-talk support and an overlay is definitely on the development roadmap.

5) Yes. There are full access controls and moderator powers.
