Any word on where to obtain animal pheromone or academic books to craft these items?

I googled it and saw there is mention of a "fire rabbit" on the UO Japan site in the same line as animal pheromone...

There's also something written about academic books, but sadly, I can't read what it says there.

Oh my.....
Can any of you plant a green thorn on Mt. Sho? I think the Fire Rabbit spawns up there (at least I got a hint on a japanese site that seems to say that!)!

1 Fire Rabbit spawns there. I killed about 15 of them before I got the Animal Pheromone, using a Vamp Dexxer and Honor....tried it with a mage and they dispel EV's as soon as you cast them.

The picture with the academic books... isn't that map the basement area of Bedlam? The one you get to through the building in the graveyard that has the champ spawn..?

I'd check for you, but obviously I can't.

I checked in Bedlam..no signs of books, has anyone found anything more on
the bookcases?

The Japanese site mentions that the Academic Books books can be discovered "rarely" in Malas. What ever that means....

At least you can stop wondering.

I'm curious how often the books spawn, sounds like they're going to be on the rare side. Methinks I might be reconsidering my library aspirations

The books are a Level 8 artifact spawning down in the Crypts where the Champ Spawn is in Bedlam, by the book cases on the south side. I snagged the ones on Chessy much earlier today.

I agree these books are gonna be so rare its hardly worth bothering to go down there.....

If that's the only way to get them then it'll be camped so bad only the script runners will ever get them.

!!! They should have also had a disclaimer when they said were FINALLY getting the cases!

"Like, filled cases are gonna be craftable! Will you as a non cheating, non billionaire player ever see one? Nah... "

Yay! Another item I'll have to buy from (mostly) scripters if I want to have it. Thanks, but Id' rather go without. Have you devs ever actually tried to get the rare spawns by normal means?

Don't worry too much about scripters.
The item is in a place filled with deadly monsters (ie red death) and it spawns in a random location in there. So the chance of mostly scripters getting it is rather slim.
