i relogged in and got a patch also, however there was just another shardwide notice saying napa is going down in 30 minutes for publish... go figure.
Lol figures I just did my 1st xshard trading of the year and got two rare icy patches and one technicolor dream box in the first twelve trades. I hope I don't loose them!

Some upgrading advice for you or anyone running Win98/2000 and/or old PCs: Look around on Craigslist.org some time. I got hold of a WinXP, 2.10 GH Athlon 64, 6800 Geforce, 250 GB harddrive (basically a big step above what I was upgrading from, and a huge step above your PC) for under 300 dollars. These are tough times and people who build computers for spare cash are giving unbelievable deals. Just be safe and take someone (preferably knowledgeable, and not a wimp) with you if you go to someone's house. I got an excellent deal but man was that guy scary-looking.
Mythic is awesome for such a degree of backwards compatibility, but eventually, they (or someone else) will find a way to build a 3D client that people can't help but fall in love with. And this is coming from someone who is never going to install the KR client.
Google Shopping is also a good place to look for stuff.
