yep... norton antivirus was causing some players configuration files to be reset, and the devs thought it was unfair that some people should have this problem while most people don't... so their solution was to make it effect everyone, not just some.
Same here, but it will just change back to yellow speech and brown emotes while I'm logged in and playing.
Its pretty annoying having to change that constantly.
And while we're on the subject,

the fix was to make everyone be inconvenienced. not just those who use norton.

nope just have to wait till EA patchs a fix.. Someone said when they put the fix in for the Norton problem which was to move the files to My Documents they left out the files for speech/emote color text. I know Mythic knows of the problem was just hoping it would have been fixed when publish went live.

anyone know if this was fixed. ???? Quite annoying to say the least. Can't read journal, etc.... sorry if it was posted couldnt seem to find anything about it other than this post

I thought the new patch was supposed to fix that? I certainly hope so because I Loathe the defaults......... and I can say for certain that I have begged the DEV's for YEARS to change the default emote color to something that shows up in the journal....... it's one of my biggest pet peeves. I certainly can't imagine that it would be so very difficult that they haven't done it by now. Apparently it's not of any priority..... not that I've ever been promised it would get on the agenda.

How do you change the colour? Not for yourself, but for everyone else that speaks so that the journal is readable?
I figured out how to change my own colour, and the emote colour, but not how to change the journal to be readable =/

I only know one way to do that, use UO Assist, there is an options to changes speak for all
